On April 3, 1905, the Ninth Beijing International Film Festival announced the finalists of the main competition unit of the "Temple of Heaven Award", and a total of 15 films from 20 countries and regions were shortlisted for the final selection of the "Temple of Heaven Award", of which 12 were overseas films and 3 Chinese films: Chen Jianbin's latest film "The Eleventh Time", Guo Fan's science fiction film "The Wandering Earth", and the Chinese and Kazakh co-production "Musician" starring Hu Jun and Yuan Quan. At the same time, "The Musician" is the opening film of this year's Beijing International Film Festival, and the closing film is the Indian film "Bollywood Zero Degree of Love".
Of the 15 shortlisted films, 4 were world premieres, 5 were Asian premieres, 5 were Chinese premieres, and 1 (The Wandering Earth) was released.
The 9th Beijing International Film Festival also announced the chairman and members of the international jury of this year's "Temple of Heaven Award". The chairman of the jury is the famous American director Rob Minkov, and the six judges are: Chilean director Silvio Gaiyozzi, Chinese director Cao Baoping, Russian director Sergei Devatswoy, Chinese Hong Kong actor Liu Jialing, Iranian director Majid Majidi and British director Simon West. The main competition unit of the "Temple of Heaven Award" will be selected from April 11 to April 20.
