Also known as "ghost shaving", it is a common form of inflammatory non-scarring alopecia.
Clinical manifestations are hair suddenly patchy and fallen, hair loss spots are mostly round or oval, varying in size, can be single or multiple, mainly seen in hair, but also can involve beards, eyebrows, armpit hair and other parts of the body with hair, hair loss spots are usually clearly bordered, skin appearance is basically normal, generally no obvious self-conscious symptoms, mostly inadvertently found, a small number of patients can have mild scalp itching or scalp tightness.

The causes of alopecia areata are complex, and Chinese medicine believes that the occurrence of this disease is mainly related to the liver, kidneys, qi and blood. "Liver main hidden blood", "kidney main tibetan essence", "kidney ,... Therefore, Chinese medicine scholars believe that alopecia areata is mainly due to insufficient liver and kidneys, deficiency of sperm and blood, and blood deficiency, which cannot glorify the pores, which leads to the wind and evil taking advantage of the void to attack, the wind is full of blood and dryness, so that the hair is lost, and the hair is easy to dry and fall off. If the human emotional disorder causes liver loss and drainage, the qi is not smooth, and the qi stagnation and blood stasis can also make the hair lose and fall.
In addition, irregular diet, chronic illness, overwork or postpartum, or congenital deficiencies can also cause alopecia areata.
Therefore, the alopecia areata disease is divided into false and real, and the deficiency is the deficiency of qi and blood or the deficiency of liver and kidney; in fact, it is too fat and sweet, or the emotion is injured, the qi is depressed and fire, the blood is hot and the wind is hot, and the wind is full of blood and dry, or the stasis hinders the hair and causes the hair to fall off.

The following describes several types and manifestations of alopecia areata, as well as the treatment methods of Traditional Chinese medicine and some simple dietary therapies:
Internal governance
1. Blood deficiency and dryness
■ Symptoms: sudden patches of hair loss, occasional scalp itching, irritability, reddish tongue, thin moss.
■ Treatment: nourish blood and dispel wind.
■ Prescription medicine:
(1) God shall raise true Dan to add and subtract;
(2) Blood nourishing hair capsules;
■ Diet therapy:
(1) Goji berry black sesame porridge;
(2) Black bean walnut mulberry porridge;
(3) Dandelion black bean candy;
2. Stagnant blood stasis
■ Symptoms: long course of illness, headache or chest rib pain before hair loss, upset and irritability, chest tightness, sleeplessness and nightmares, dark tongue with petechiae.
■ Treatment: relieve liver depression, activate blood and dissolve stasis.

3. Deficiency of qi and blood

4. Liver and kidney yin deficiency
■ Symptoms: the course of the disease is long, the hair is burnt yellow or gray, the onset of the disease is a large piece of uniform shedding, and even the hair of the whole body is shed, accompanied by dizziness, tinnitus, dizziness, waist and knee soreness, light tongue, thin moss.
■ Treatment: nourish the liver and kidneys.

■ Dietary therapy: shou wu, raw land, ginseng, yam, goji berries and pork rib soup.
External washing method
Wash with lettuce, moccane, temporal buttern, pine needles and decoction water. Among them, the cattuss herb dispels wind and relieves itching, mo dry lotus is beneficial to kidney hair, diostidate activates blood and replenishes blood, pine needle dispels weathering, dampness, itching and insecticide; it is the preferred drug in shampoos, and this formula focuses on dispelling wind and activating the network, anti-itching hair.
Saffron, orange, sichuan root, ginseng flowers soaked in 75% alcohol for 7 days to rub the hair loss area. Among them, Sichuan Root performs qi to replenish blood, orange network unclogs pores, ginseng flowers replenish qi and vitality, and can enter the brain and glorify pores, and saffron activates blood and dissolves stasis. The combination of four medicines can benefit qi and blood, dissolve phlegm and wake up the brain, and lead the group of drugs directly to the pores through saffron to provide nutrition for hair.
Acupuncture treatment
Acupuncture can be used to prick the alopecia area and the hair loss area plus plum needles to puncture alopecia area, or to use plum needles combined with moxibustion to treat alopecia area.
