Young blackbirds were found in the Huainan wetland of Xinyang, which is a new bird species in the area

On September 6, Peng Daguo, a member of China Bird Network, one of China's top ten bird care models, and the director of the Forestry Bureau of Huaibin County in Xinyang City, came to the Huaibin County Huainan Wetland Conservation Area as usual, hiking 5 kilometers, taking pictures while walking, and recording the bits and pieces in the wetland.

However, this time, when Peng Dadao walked to the North Causeway of Huainan Wet Place, he was very excited, and with professional experience, he felt that this bird was different from other birds. So hurry up click, click, click, click.

"Compared, this bird is a wēng juvenile." Peng Dadao said: "This discovery is very significant, indicating that the bird breeds in or near the Huainan wetland in Huaibin, which not only enriches the bird species in the Huainan wetland, but also rewrites the existing literature." ”

Muscicapa sibirica is a bird of the genus Muscicapa sibirica, a common breeding bird in the 2500-meter summer in the mountains of western Sichuan, which uses pine and hair to nest on the transverse lateral branches of coniferous forests about 5 meters above the ground. After sunrise, they are at the peak of their activity, often staying on protruding dry branches and catching small insects passing in the air. It breeds in Northeast Asia and the Himalayas , migrating to southern China , Palawan , Southeast Asia and the Sunda Islands in winter. The type of origin of this species is in Siberia.

Slightly smaller (13 cm) smoky grey grebe. The upper body is dark gray, with inconspicuous skin-yellow markings on the wings, the lower body is white, the two sides are dark with smoke-gray spots, and the upper chest has gray-brown blurred bands; the white eye circles are obvious, the throat is white, usually with a white half-neck ring; the lower cheeks have black fine lines, and the wings are 2/3 of the tail length. The degree of grey of the underparts varies from subspecies to subspecies. Sub-adults have white spots on their faces and backs.

"In recent years, Huaibin has created a mixed forest dominated by deciduous fir, pond fir and metasequoia, evergreen, deciduous and other tree species, creating conditions for the breeding of small birds. This discovery also confirms that the thinking of Huaibin forestry ecological construction is correct and shows the due ecological value. Peng Dadao told reporters.
