Qiu Taisan, chairman of Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council, said yesterday that the mainland and Taiwan are the best in the world in epidemic prevention, and stressed the need to restart cross-strait dialogue. Guo Zhengliang, a former "legislator" of the Democratic Progressive Party, said that now I am afraid that it is necessary to talk about how the two sides of the strait can ease the situation. Lai Yueqian, an expert on international affairs, pointed out that if Qiu Taisan really wants to improve cross-strait relations, the unilateral side can do a lot of things.

Qiu Taisan said at the "Three-Three Enterprise Exchange Meeting" that the best way to do the world's epidemic prevention effect is to Chinese mainland and Taiwan, and stressed that the cross-strait situation is not so smooth, but both sides have done their best to maintain the status quo, there is also the need and possibility to restart dialogue, and the situation is not suitable for tightening. Chinese mainland Kexing and Sinopharm vaccines have been recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO), and whether to recognize these vaccines or not, the two sides of the strait should also communicate.
In response to Qiu Taisan's statement, Guo Zhengliang said on the 15th in the Zhongtian News's "Headline Opening Talk" program that Qiu Taisan is the most friendly to the mainland among the heads of various "ministries and meetings" of the DPP authorities, and the mainland knows it. There is no way, this is the general environment, the Sino-US game, and the attitude of Tsai Ing-wen herself, the leader of the Taiwan region, because cross-strait relations are decided by her, so it depends on whether she wants to do these things or not. When Qiu Taisan said these words, he did not say what he wanted to talk about specifically with the other side of the strait, and now I am afraid that he wants to talk about how the two sides of the strait can ease the situation and so on.
Lai Yueqian pointed out that Tsai Ing-wen, who served as chairman of the Mainland Affairs Council, should know what the role of this position is. Qiu Taisan should first communicate clearly with Tsai Ing-wen that as long as the "ministries" involve mainland issues, with the Macedage as the main body, Tsai Ing-wen must make a final decision on this point, and then explain clearly to the heads of the "ministries and meetings" that this is what she means.
Lai Yueqian also said that if Qiu Taisan really wants to improve cross-strait relations, the unilateral party can do a lot of things, such as the mainland vaccine or passengers, to let it come in reciprocally, which is something that the unilateral party can do, there is no need to consult with the mainland first; there is also "Xiaoming's Story" The 10 or so children can let them in in a humanitarian way. There are also students from the mainland and tourists from the mainland, as long as they are vaccinated on the mainland, they can consider reducing the time of isolation, which is what Taiwan itself can do.
According to another report by the Hong Kong China Commentary Network, Qiu Taisan said at the regular meeting of the Sansan Enterprise Exchange Meeting in September yesterday that there is a need for cross-strait dialogue and can communicate whether Taiwan recognizes the mainland vaccine. Hsu Shu, chairman of the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce, said that more than a month ago he suggested to Qiu Taisan that the two sides of the strait should negotiate mutual certification of vaccines as soon as possible so as not to hinder cross-strait commercial exchanges and exchanges:
First, with the degree of economic dependence of the two sides of the strait, it is impossible not to communicate or contact, and the two sides must still find ways to resume dialogue, otherwise it will have a great impact on the economy of the two sides of the strait.
Second, if there is no cross-strait communication at all, there is no need for the MAC to exist, and he suggested at the time that Qiu Taisan should not be able to think about what methods should be used to restore cross-strait communication as soon as possible.
Third, including the Federation of Taiwan Enterprises and Taiwan businessmen, they all responded to him about the idea of a vaccine passport, and the two sides of the strait really need to sit down and talk about vaccine certification, and he naturally agrees that the two sides of the strait should communicate first on the issue of vaccine certification.
Hsu Shu-po pointed out that at present, at least 1 million Taiwan businessmen are looking forward to coming to the mainland, Taiwan also needs mainland tourists to come to Taiwan, and there are millions of people who often travel between the two sides of the strait, the cross-strait vaccine issue is not raised to communicate and discuss, and if the vaccine certification is not quickly coordinated to a final plan, it will hinder all commercial exchanges between the two sides of the strait and all cross-strait exchanges.
Hsu Shu-po said that because every Taiwan businessman travels to and from both sides of the strait, the quarantine alone will be locked up for a month, and everyone will want to say that if they simply look forward to the mainland or taiwan for a long time, the scope of such commercial operations will not be expanded, and may even shrink smaller and smaller; on the contrary, if there is a breakthrough point in the mutual certification of vaccines, it will be of positive help to the entire commercial and economic and trade behavior.
