On the high speed of electric vehicles, charging makes people really "confused", "囧途" when to change the way?

In recent years, the sales of new energy vehicles have been rising, and while new energy vehicles are being accepted by more and more users, users' requirements for pure electric vehicles are also getting higher and higher, no longer limited to short-distance transportation, but hope that they can also travel long distances. However, from the current point of view, the layout of charging stations along the highway is seriously lagging behind, which has become an important constraint for new energy vehicles to play an alternative effect of fuel vehicles.

■ 囧事一

Power replenishment in bus terminals "continues to live"

The main high-speed of electric vehicles frequently encounters "囧事". Ms. Zhou, a citizen, still remembers her experience of returning home in May this year in a pure electric vehicle. "It's really a story to tell, and it's not too much to shoot a 'car on the road.'" Ms. Zhou smiled bitterly.

On May Day this year, Ms. Zhou suddenly received the news that her father was critically ill, and she could not buy a ticket, so she had to hurry to drive the new energy vehicle she had just bought and embarked on a journey back to her hometown of Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province. Because of the suddenness of the incident, Ms. Zhou did not have time to plan the charging line in detail before traveling. "I thought that the vehicle had a mileage of more than 500 kilometers, and it was not difficult to find charging facilities along the way, so it should be no problem to drive home." Unexpectedly, this journey was unexpectedly bumpy.

The journey went smoothly at first, and Ms. Zhou charged smoothly in the service area on the Beijing-Harbin Expressway and drove all the way north. When the car drove to Shenyang and needed to be charged again, due to the queue of charging facilities in the high-speed service area, Ms. Zhou chose to get off the highway to Shenyang city to find a place to charge. "But at that time, it was a small long holiday, the traffic jam in the city did not say, the charging was also queued, and it took more than 4 hours to toss back and forth before returning to the highway." Ms. Zhou said.

However, the trouble has only just begun. Driving further north, Ms. Zhou found that there were fewer and fewer charging facilities. "Probably because the northeast is too cold, the penetration rate of new energy vehicles is low, and there are fewer and fewer charging facilities." After passing through Harbin, there are no charging stations nearby along the way. But seeing that the car's mileage is getting lower and lower, charging is imminent, helpless, Ms. Zhou can only drive into a small city nearby, and in a hurry, she found a bus stop with charging facilities, so that she can make up the electricity for her car there, which can "continue to live" and continue to drive forward.

Finally, the car drove to Jiamusi, and there was very little power left. Ms. Zhou searched and found that there was no social public charging facility in Fujin City, Jiamusi, where she was located. In desperation, Ms. Zhou found a local 4S shop that sold gasoline-electric hybrid models and asked if she could recharge the vehicle. "In the end, I barely charged the car, but the charging facilities of the 4S shop were relatively low, charged for a day and a night, and the car was not full for me." Thinking that this is not the way to go, Ms. Zhou consulted the after-sales customer service of her own vehicle, and they supported the purchase of the charging cable and plug of the brand vehicle online. "In the end, it was by relying on self-charging equipment and finding a place to charge along the way that I finally drove the car back to Beijing." After such a "journey", Ms. Zhou no longer dared to try to drive a long distance.

Charging facilities are old and frequent "jump guns"

Mr. Zhang, a citizen, became a pure electric vehicle owner last year. Usually, Mr. Zhang feels very convenient whether he is driving to and from work, or finding friends to gather on weekends. "I have a few familiar charging stations myself, usually charged once or twice a week, but I don't feel any mileage anxiety." Mr. Zhang said, but when he began to try to drive a long distance and left his familiar charging "circle", charging problems began to appear repeatedly, allowing him to truly appreciate the bitterness caused by mileage anxiety.

Last year, Mr. Zhang drove all the way south from Beijing to Jinan, Qingdao and other places in Shandong. "Before I set off, I probably did a strategy, and saw that there were a lot of charging facilities along the way, although the vehicle had a solid endurance of more than 300 kilometers, but I thought it should be no problem." However, after really getting on the road, Mr. Zhang still encountered several charging "dangerous situations".

One of the most memorable ones for Mr. Zhang was that one night he lived in a small city near Qingdao, and there was little left of the vehicle's electricity to be replenished. Navigating, he searched for a nearby charging station, drove to find the parking lot gate closed, and the vehicle could not enter at all. In desperation, he searched for another charging facility, and after driving to find that the charging facility was old, after plugging in the charging gun, several times there was a situation where the "jump gun" was disconnected, and it could not be charged normally. After trying several charging facilities that could not be charged normally, Mr. Zhang had no choice but to look for a charging station again.

"At this time, the mileage displayed in my car was only more than 30 kilometers, and I was really worried about the way to find the next charging station, while worrying that the vehicle would lie down at any time, and at the same time, I was afraid that the next charging station would not be able to charge the electricity." Fortunately, Mr. Zhang finally found a usable charging facility and filled the vehicle with electricity without any danger.

Charging efficiency needs to be improved

After the difficulty of charging electric vehicles has aroused heated discussions, some people can't help but sigh that under the current circumstances, electric vehicles may only be suitable for staying in cities with more complete charging facilities, for short-distance transportation, "run long distances and don't expect extravagantly."

However, in the context of the energy transformation brought about by the "double carbon" goal, the electrification and intelligence of automobiles have become a major trend, and the realization of long-distance travel as soon as possible will become a threshold that the popularity of pure electric vehicles must cross.

The reporter learned from the China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance that as of September this year, the number of public charging piles in the country has reached about 1.044 million, and the number of private self-use charging piles has reached 1.179 million, mainly distributed in beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta and other areas with rapid development of new energy vehicles. "In fact, the current utilization rate of public charging facilities nationwide is generally less than 10%. Although the sales volume of new energy vehicles has continued to rise this year, the number of public charging piles is sufficient from the perspective of utilization. Liu Kai, director of the Technology and Certification Department of the China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance, said.

However, Liu Kai also said that the short-term centralized charging demand that broke out of long-distance self-driving trips during holidays such as National Day has not been well met, exposing the current charging efficiency to be improved, operation and maintenance management is not in place, and the layout is not reasonable enough. The data shows that in the construction of high-speed charging networks, the State Grid has laid out more than 10,000 charging piles with a single gun of 60 kilowatts in the highway service area of ten vertical and ten horizontal and two rings.

The reporter visited a number of high-speed service areas such as Beijing-Harbin, Beijing-Shanghai, Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao and other high-speed service areas and found that the charging facilities data of the service areas equipped with charging facilities are basically 8 (4 in the direction of Entering Beijing and Leaving Beijing). In normal times, these charging facilities are basically enough, but once they encounter special periods such as Golden Week, it takes one or two hours to fill a car, and it is very likely that there will be a long queue.

Promote the popularization of high-power charging technology

Liu Kai analyzed that the long charging time is an important reason for the current holiday charging queue. Therefore, as early as 4 years ago, the industry has begun to work on the research and development of high-power charging technology, and there have been applications of high-power charging technology similar to refueling efficiency. However, at present, this supercharging technology has not yet been widely popularized on high-speed networks. If we want to achieve the "freedom of long-distance travel" of electric vehicles, we must promote the popularization of high-power charging technology and let vehicles complete rapid power replenishment in high-speed service areas.

In addition to high-power charging, Liu Kai introduced that power exchange can also become a way to improve the efficiency of power replenishment. At present, baic motor new energy, Weilai and other brand vehicles that use power exchange technology can generally complete the whole process of replacing the battery in 3 minutes or even less, which greatly improves the efficiency of energy replenishment.

However, there is also a major difficulty in the popularization of power exchange, that is, the batteries of various brands of vehicles have not been standardized, resulting in the current replacement power station being limited to a single vehicle brand. In this regard, Liu Kai introduced that the group standard of the "Electric Passenger Car Sharing and Replacement Power Station Construction Specification" jointly organized by the Charging Alliance and the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers has passed the approval review and is expected to be released within the year, which will effectively promote the exploration and application of the power exchange mode.

In addition, at present, some brands are trying to solve the problem of long-distance travel for their users by building their own charging networks and laying out charging facilities on popular tourist routes.
