Li Rui, born on April 13, 1917, was born in Pingjiang County, Yueyang City, Hunan Province, and is an expert and writer on Mao Zedong. He once served as the political secretary of Gao Gang, the political secretary of Comrade Chen Yun, the part-time secretary of Chairman Mao, and the executive deputy director of the Central Organization Department. In December 2008, he was selected into the list of "30 Outstanding People in the 30 Years of China's Reform and Opening Up". He is 101 years old.
