Fools move
At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the crowd chased deer, and the wind was strange.
If you act rashly, you will often be crushed under the wheel of history.
Yuan Shu felt this the most.
Yuan Shu was born in the "Fourth Dynasty and Three Dukes" of the Runan," and his prominent family power gave him strong capital to compete for the world.
He and his elder brother Yuan Shao were both the best of that era.
Even Dong Zhuo said:
"But if you kill Eryuan, the world will serve itself."
However, although Yuan Shu has strong strength, he does not have a clear understanding of the current situation, and he has been drunk and dreaming of death in the "Emperor Dream" from beginning to end.
Yuan Shao wanted to make Liu Yu emperor of the Han Dynasty and sent someone to inform Yuan Shu, hoping to get his brother's support.
Unexpectedly, Yuan Shu rejected his brother's proposal, and in his eyes, there was no need to establish another Heavenly Son, because he himself was the "True Destiny Heavenly Son".
Later, Yuan Shu obtained the Han Dynasty's Imperial Jade Seal from Sun Jian, which further strengthened his idea of "self-reliance on behalf of the Han Dynasty".
In the second year of Jian'an, Yuan Shu could no longer suppress his desire for the throne, and risked the world's great disobedience to take the lead in claiming that the emperor was self-reliant.

He was "desolate and extravagant, and hundreds of harems were dressed in silk and sorghum meat", and he was immersed in the joy of being called emperor, with big fish and big meat, extravagant, and completely disregarding his soldiers and people.
As a result, it caused a human tragedy of "soldiers and soldiers freezing, the Jianghuai and Huaihuai rooms empty, and the people cannibalizing each other".
Yuan Shu's trespass was immediately opposed by the princes of the world.
When Cao Cao heard the news that Yuan Shu had been proclaimed emperor, he couldn't help but laugh, and he finally had a chance to clean up this arrogance!
Yuan Shu's "stupidity" made himself the primary target of attack by various princes, and he was soon attacked by Sun Ce, Lü Bu, and Cao Cao.
In the end, he could not resist, gradually retreated, and no longer had the spirit of being called emperor, so he had to cry and die in the sigh of "Yuan Shu as far as this".
The Tao Te Ching says:
I don't know how to do it, I am presumptuous.
If a person does not understand the situation in the world, he will act rashly, and once he acts rashly, he will cause great chaos.
From the original day in the sky, to the final end of the road, Yuan Shu's failure lies in "arrogance".
He didn't understand the situation, acted rashly, and finally broke a good hand.
It can be seen that only by not being delusional and not having delusions can we make our actions unbiased, so as to effectively resist temptation and avoid risks.
The mediocre does not move
As the saying goes, "The time is not to be lost, and the time will not come again." ”
Timing needs to be waited for and grasped, and if you don't grasp it, you are likely to be mediocre for a lifetime.
This is the case with Liu Biao of the Three Kingdoms.
At that time, Liu Biao was sitting in the nine counties of Jingxiang, with more than 100,000 armor under his command, and was a strong contender for the world.
Zhuge Liang said this about Jingzhou in "Longzhong Pair":
According to Han Chu in the north, the South China Sea in the east, Wuhui in the east, and Tumba Shu in the west, this country of martial arts.
Lu Su also believes that:
Jingzhou water flows down to the north, with the Han River outside, the mountains and mausoleums inside, the solidity of the golden city, the fertile wilderness, the rich people, if there is a basis, the emperor's capital is also.
The two reached a high degree of agreement on the strategic value of Jingzhou, which is enough to see the importance of Jingzhou.
It can be said that Liu Biao was in this "chaotic game" and had a full level at the beginning of this "chaotic game".
However, because of the problem of "indecision", he missed the opportunity to win the world again and again.
"The outer is wide and the inside is jealous, the plot is indecisive, the talent cannot be used, the good smell cannot be accepted", if Yuan Shu fails because of "arrogance", then Liu Biao fails because of "not moving".
At that time, Cao Cao had already defeated Yuan Shao, and Yuan Shao's two sons, Yuan Shang and Yuan Xi, fled to Wuhuan, Liaodong Province, which became a major hidden danger in Cao Cao's heart.
Cao Cao wanted to march north and take advantage of the victory to pursue, but he was worried that Liu Biao would lead the troops to attack, and for a while, it was difficult to choose.
At this time, the counselor Guo Jia stood up and said:
"Table, sit and talk. Although the expedition of the virtual country, the public has no worries! ”
Cao Cao listened to Guo Jia's suggestion, thought about Liu Biao's performance in his daily life, and laughed:
"I attacked Lü Bu, the table is not Kou, the Battle of Guandu, not to save Yuan Shao, this self-defending thief is also suitable for the later map."
Sure enough, during the whole process of Cao Cao's pacification of Wuhuan, Liu Biao did not make the slightest move.
In fact, as early as when Cao Cao and Yuan Shao guandu were fighting, Liu Bei had persuaded Liu Biao to take the opportunity to attack Xuchang.
But Liu Biao was indecisive, just did not move, and finally missed a good opportunity to advance into the Central Plains in vain.
Later, he said to Liu Bei with great chagrin:
"Last time, I only hated not adopting the wise brother's plan, and only in vain did I miss a good opportunity."
In this way, "not seeing the incident, being suspicious and indecisive" has become Liu Biao's fatal weakness.
No matter what the surrounding disturbances were, Liu Biao just "sat still" and finally watched as Cao Cao unified the Central Plains and went south to Jingzhou.
The Chinese says:
The time is not slack, the time does not come again, the heavens do not take, but the disaster.
Since ancient times, things have been difficult to achieve in time.
If you get the corresponding opportunity, don't slack off in the slightest, and once the opportunity is missed, you don't know when to come again.
In a sense, wasting opportunities is also a sin.
Wise men are good at moving
The chaotic era of the Eastern Han Dynasty eventually became the trend of the Three Kingdoms, because Cao Sun and Liu All three had their own strengths.
As Zhuge Liang said, Sun Quan occupied the "geographical advantage", Liu Bei had "people", and Cao Cao relied on "heaven and time".
What is "Celestial Time"?

Yuan Shao repeatedly refused the advice of the counselors to "blackmail the heavens and order the princes", Yuan Shu himself dreamed of being an emperor, and Liu Biao was even more "deaf to the outside of the window, and only enjoyed the blessings of Jingxiang".
The disdain of the strength, the sigh of the powerless, everyone is busy with their own, only Cao Cao seized this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Despite the opposition of the people, he insisted on sending troops to the west, and after defeating Yang Feng, Zhang Yang and other obstructive forces, he finally ushered in Emperor Xian of Han.
Although Emperor Xian of Han was a puppet, he was still the titular emperor and the co-lord of the world.
Cao Cao's move could not only "serve the Son of Heaven and not be a subject", but also establish a belief for the pro-Han faction at that time, thus promoting the cooperation between the pro-Han faction and himself.
With the Son of Heaven in his hands, Cao Cao presented himself as orthodox, and in the name of Han Tianzi, he conquered the East and the West, and soon pacified the Central Plains and laid a great cause.
When it should be advanced, it should be advanced, and when it should be retreated, Cao Cao was also unambiguous.
In the contest with Ma Chao and Han Sui, Cao Cao fought steadily and steadily, and soon occupied the advantage.
Ma Chaohan saw that the situation was not good, so he wanted to cut the land and ask for peace.
At this time, Cao Cao did not be aggressive, but chose to take a step back and agree to the other party's request.
Because he knew that if he refused sternly, it would ruin the hope of Ma and Han for peace, and the two would definitely break the boat and join forces to fight to the death, and even if they could win at that time, I was afraid that they would have to pay a great price.
Therefore, Cao Cao took the retreat as an advance, first pretended to agree to peace, and then secretly approached Han Sui, using the divisive strategy to make the two people feel suspicious, and finally seized the opportunity to break through each other.
"Lü's Spring and Autumn" says:
Whenever there is a meeting, there is a union; when the time is not in harmony, it will be reconciled and then done.
The wise change from time to time, and the knower follows events.
Moving with the times is the only way for Cao Cao to win.
The Romance of the Three Kingdoms says:
The saints always move with the times, and the wise will be inspired by chance.
Intelligent people have a top vision, they understand the importance of conforming to the law, and they understand that fate is partly self-grasping and partly created by Providence.
When the time comes, it moves, and when the momentum goes, it stops.
If we want to control our lives, we should not be fools who act rashly, mediocres who miss opportunities, but be wise people who move with the times.
