In the AFC Champions League Group J match on the evening of 24 June, De Young scored a goal in the 79th minute to help Jasperge beat the Port Bureau 2-0. The goal was De Young's 37th AFC Champions League goal of his career, and he tied south Korean star Lee Tong-kook to become the all-time top scorer in the AFC Champions League.
De Young was born on July 27, 1981, and he will turn 40 next month. De Young's 37 goals in the AFC Champions League were scored by four clubs: Seoul FC, Beijing Guoan, Suwon Samsung and JieZhi.
