The current sheep price market can be described as very ideal, but in this case, there are still some sheep farmers who are difficult to make money, the main reason is that the number of ewe lambs is small, the ewe raised by others can produce 3 to 4 lambs a year on average, and the ewe of their own sheep can only produce 1 to 2 lambs a year, and the lambs are raised after the ewe and lambs need to be raised. Today Xiaobian will introduce in detail the reasons for the lack of lambing of ewes, hoping to help the majority of sheep farmers and friends!

1. Introduce and eliminate ewes
Many sheep breeding novices will enter a misunderstanding when introducing seeds, that is, choosing pregnant big ewes can see profits faster and can get more benefits. If the selected pregnant big ewe can be lambed in one or two months, and a fetus can produce 2 to 3 lambs, then raising sheep can definitely make money in the short term, the key problem is that the sheep breeding novice thinks so, the sheep breeder thinks more, although a big ewe can sell two or three thousand yuan, but as long as it can get 2 lambs, it is worth so much money, so now almost no one is willing to sell the big ewe that can reproduce normally, let alone the big ewe that is pregnant and is close to production.
The so-called pregnant ewes on the market are mostly some eliminated ewes with no production value, such as cloth disease, intrauterine inflammation, rate infertility, mastitis and excessive age, etc. It is easier to sell as a pregnant big ewe, and can be sold at a good price. But once the sheep breeding novice buys it back, after raising it for a month or two, it will be found that most of the big ewes are not pregnant, at least half of the ewes are not worthy of breeding, even if they are lucky enough to have various problems, in this case, the sheep will definitely lose money.
To say a personal experience of mine, last month spent 2800 yuan to buy a two-tooth pregnant big ewe, the old man in our nearby village sold it, he said that he could not raise it for physical reasons, the sheep looked good, it had been milked, and the asking price was more reasonable, so I bought it back. Two days ago the sheep gave birth to a lamb, and then the fetal clothes did not go down, after playing the uterine and then gave birth to a dead lamb the next day, the hair is in a state that has just grown, it is estimated that the ewe is pregnant for 3.5 to 4 months when the top hit the stomach, so the old man only handled, fortunately there is a lamb, otherwise it will lose money.
2. Introduction of high-generation ewes
Now the northern house feeding captivity mostly chooses small tail cold sheep, lake sheep, Du Han hybrid generation one or two generations, Ao Hu hybrid generation as the basic ewe, these sheep have a good lambing rate, can meet the basic production requirements of two years and three births, each litter 2 to 3 lambs. However, when buying sheep, many people like to buy high-generation hybrid ewes, Du Han hybrid three or four generations, Aohu hybrid three or four generations of ewes that are close to purebred, this kind of sheep is also difficult to buy back with a good lambing rate.
Because Dubo sheep and Australian white sheep are bred by foreign countries, the direction of their breeding is to adapt to foreign grazing and have high meat production performance, so these two kinds of sheep are mostly single-season estrus (generally autumn estrus), can only give birth to one child a year, and one litter produces 1 to 2 lambs. The higher the purity of the hybrid sheep, the closer it will be to these two sheep, and the production performance will also be greatly reduced, so we should not introduce high-generation ewes when introducing seeds.
3. Do not pay attention to breeding
Many sheep farmers do not have the concept of flock breeding, or the direction of breeding is not correct, generally speaking, the growth rate of single lamb sheep will be much faster than that of two lambs and three lambs, and sheep farmers will sell small and large when they keep seeds, although the lambs left behind grow faster, but the lambing rate as a breeding lamb is not ideal, and over time the lambing rate of the flock will be significantly reduced.
Sheep farmers and attach importance to breeding, correct breeding, more than two lambs, three lambs and postpartum can be quickly estrus of ewes to breed offspring sheep to keep breeding, of course, in addition, but also depends on the size of the sheep, growth rate, etc., if the sheep is too small, slow growth rate then the growth rate of the offspring will not be too ideal.
4, do not pay attention to lamb feeding
Some sheep farmers will not give the lambs a separate supplementary feeding, let the lambs follow the ewe to eat milk, eat, in this case the ewe lactation pressure will be greatly increased, lactation needs more nutrients, the ewe itself is prone to malnutrition, thus affecting the normal estrus breeding of ewes, some ewes have not had estrus for several months after lambing.
If the ewe produces 3 or more lambs, or if the ewe is not breastfeeding enough, some milk substitutes should be fed after the lamb is born. When the lamb is more than 10 days old, it is necessary to properly feed some concentrate, and above 20 days old, it can feed some high-quality green hay. Feeding lambs early can improve the growth rate of lambs, and second, reduce the lactation pressure of ewes and make them estrus quickly.
