Regarding the method of watering roses, I personally recommend that you use the dip method as much as possible if possible. The benefits of the soaking pot watering method are obvious, and there are three simple summaries:
1. Promote the root system of the rose to root deep into the pot soil, so that the rose root system raised is robust and developed, thick vine-like, firmly grasping the whole pot of soil, and even often overflowing the pot hole. On the contrary, if the conventional watering method is not thorough enough, the root system often exists only at 3-5cm of the surface layer of the potting soil, showing a loose cake;
2, the rose leaf surface and color is very clean, almost pure, the flower core does not accumulate water, it will not cause sunburn spots on the leaf surface and flower core, as well as water stains caused by floating dust and ash in the greenhouse;
3, after mastering the skills and corresponding equipment, the efficiency of soaking pot watering is much higher than spraying watering, after personal testing, spraying watering to pour through each basin is time-consuming and labor-intensive.
So here's the problem! Some flower friends asked: Is it okay for roses to be so wet after dipping? After the completion of the dipping pot, it is not brought out in time, which is equivalent to soaking in water. The answer is certain and affirmative: yes!
Roses are relatively fond of water during the growth period, Chen Qinqin once did the "rose hydroponics" test, in the autumn and winter looks good, and then triumphantly ran to me and hissed, almost shocked my jaw! After imitation and personal testing, I threw a Hierro and a peach into the goldfish tank completely, and it didn't take long for the beard to grow roots, white and long floating in the water, like an aquatic plant! However, it can be confirmed that as long as the ambient temperature of the rose is suitable during the growth period, it is quite skinny, especially the water suitability, and there is no need to worry!
On the contrary, I myself have personally done another experiment of complete extremes, that is, the use of water moss as a substrate, spread into the large glass bottle that IKEA bought that can be placed diagonally, and planted roses such as peaches, white jade eggs and group gold in the same autumn, almost forgetting their existence throughout the growing season, and the impression is that at most only 3-4 times of water, or incidental, it can be said that it is abused to the extreme. Predictably, these test products are either very weak and weak in the second year, or they are abused so badly that they lead to early flowering, and the water stored in the leaf layer is completely insufficient for the second year's dormancy, and they are not dead and break the phase three times. In fact, the principle is very simple and simple, rose summer sleep is need to reserve enough nutrients and water, in order to moist luster, the leaf layer is tight, just like the polar bear hibernation before the intake of a lot of food, will grow themselves into a fat round soil, always can not be hungry empty stomach to sleep it!
Finally, some students will ask if roses need to be fertilized? Water and fertilizer related, after talking about "water" incidentally also mentioned "fat". In principle, we do not recommend fertilizing roses, and we almost never fertilize them. The only time was when we did a comparative test at the beginning of the establishment of the garden, and the proportion of the flower bed that slowed down the release of fertilizer and the flower bed without fertilization did have significant differences in traits. The color of the rose after fertilization is dark and dark green, and the leaf layer is thick and hypertrophic, which distorts the visual sense of rose aesthetics to a certain extent, and the test product without fertilization is fresh and bright green in color, and the flower type is compact and zhouzheng, so we have never tried to fertilize again.
