Earlier this month, the NBA released the long-awaited 75th anniversary team that honored the greatest 75 players in league history — though technically, 76 players made the list due to a vote draw. Legends such as Michael Jordan, Karim Abdul-Abdul-Abdul-Abdul and Bill Russell are at the top of the list, but there are also many famous newcomers, including Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and LeBron James. There are 11 active players on the list, including: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Cameron Anthony, Anthony Davis, James Harden, Cowy Leonard, Damian Lillard, Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook.
As we continue to analyze the top 75, let's look at some of the other active players who are likely to be historic greats in the 100th anniversary team in 2046.

When you think of being an active player on a 100th anniversary team, Luka Doncic is probably the most obvious name. He brings together one of the best starts in anyone's career in NBA history. After playing a few seasons in the NBA.
It's not even worth discussing Doncic's case in too much detail. He is a generation of attacking geniuses who will join the club when the next team is announced unless there is a disastrous injury.

Another target on the list 25 years later was Nikola Jokic. He was one of only two MVPs not to be named to the 75th Anniversary team — the other being Derrick Rose — a complete result of his age. He's still only 26 years old, and voters don't think he'll have a chance to sort out the necessary resumes to advance.
Of course, it's only a matter of time, as Jokic has developed into one of the most unique and talented offensive players of our time. He played exactly at his own pace and climbed awkwardly up the floor like a man who didn't care. But when he started performing for the Nuggets on the offensive end, he quickly realized he might be the best passer in the world right now.
On top of that, he just seems to be getting better at controlling the game. Again, there are always injury warnings, but it's safe to say that when his career ends, Jokic will be one of the greatest players in history.

Few players are as frustrated as Klay Thompson about not making the list, posting multiple messages on social media lamenting that he was not included in the list. Thompson wrote: "Maybe my ability to play basketball is too naïve, but in my mind, I've always been in the top 75. ”
Thompson had the right to be upset. If he hadn't missed the past two seasons because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament and a torn Achilles tendon, he might have succeeded. Even so, he's one of the best shooters of all time, as our own Brad Botkin put it. If Ray Allen and Reggie Miller advance (well deservedly), then Thompson deserves it too.
That's why when the club expands to 100 players in 25 years, he's likely to stay there. No official vote shows how close the players are to success, but it's hard to imagine how far Thompson is. He's going to recover from injuries in a few months, and he'll soon have a chance to show voters why they're making mistakes.

Whenever such a list or ranking appears, snubs always become one of the top topics of discussion. In this regard, Dwight Howard is arguably the biggest snub for the 75th Anniversary Team. Although Howard's career is nearing the end of his life and there are few plans to do, it's especially surprising to see him leave, given some of the active players listed.
He's been one of the most dominant big men in the league for nearly a decade — considering it's only been around for 75 years, it's a big part of NBA history. He certainly holds three Defensive Player of the Year awards, eight All-Star Games and eight NBA appearances. He also finally won a championship with the Lakers, though not as a leader.
Injuries and changes in the way they play mean the second half of Howard's career has largely been forgotten. Plus, he seems to be unloved by many in the NBA community. But these factors should not negate the fact that he deserves a position this time, and when the list expands, it is almost certain to get a position.

When you think of the greatest active players in history, Paul George may not be the first name to come to mind, and he may not be the most exciting. But when you start adding up his work and predicting what he's going to do in the future, he definitely has a chance.
First, he's already been named an All-Star seven times, and there may be one more this season. If he can reach 10, which is quite possible, that almost guarantees that he has a spot. Of the 41 players who have played in at least 10 All-Star Games, only Krysposh has failed to be named to the 75th Anniversary Team. In addition, George has been named to six NBA All-In-1 Teams. If he can hit seven, it's also very likely, and that's likely to guarantee him a spot. Of the 43 players who have been named to the NBA's All-Team at least seven times, only Dwight Howard and Tracy McGrady were not selected this time.
George is one of the best two-way wingers in the league and his peak should be at least a few years away. When the list moves to the top 100, there are 25 additional places open and George should be able to take the next one.
