The old man's name is Teng Xiyuan, born in 1925 in Laiwu North Shanyang Village, Shandong Province. Since his parents died at an early age, he was the third oldest in the family to shoulder the burden of life early. In 1938, the Japanese army invaded Laiwu, and the iron hooves of the Japanese invaders trampled on the land of China, burning and looting. The 13-year-old Teng Xiyuan decided to join the revolution and became a member of the Laidong County Brigade, when Teng Xiyuan was young and short-skinned, and everyone called him TengHezi.

Teng Xiyuan's magnificent military career can be described as a great achievement.
In 1940, the Chinese battlefield entered a stalemate stage, and the Japanese army frantically swept the base areas behind the enemy lines in order to consolidate the occupied areas. In the early summer of that year, the Japanese army marched into the anti-Japanese base area in Luzhong Province, and the Shandong Column of the Eighth Route Army launched a fierce battle with the Japanese army in the Yangjiaheng area, and Teng Xiyuan's county brigade also participated.
During the battle, Teng Xiyuan found the Japanese squad leader holding a command knife and shouting to attack, he aimed his shell gun at the Japanese squad leader, pulled the trigger, and the Japanese squad leader fell to the ground in response. In this battle, Teng Xiyuan killed 6 Japanese soldiers, and when the fight was fierce, he even stabbed one Japanese soldier to death with hand-to-hand combat.

After the battle, Teng Xiyuan was awarded the first class for his excellent performance. Liao Rongbiao, who was then the commander of the fourth detachment of the Shandong Column, praised Teng Xiyuan and said, "You little black boy is really good at beating devils!" After fighting away the Japanese army, I did not expect the Kuomintang reactionaries to come again. In July 1947, Hua Ye dispatched four columns to encircle and occupy the Kuomintang reorganized 11th Division, and Teng Xiyuan was already an artillery company commander at that time. At that time, Teng Xiyuan arranged a lookout post to observe the enemy's situation, and when Teng Xiyuan went to check the sentry, he found that more than 200 people from the enemy's two battalions were marching towards this side.
The large troops of our army are still at least half a mile away from here, and the enemy is getting closer and closer, and it seems that a 200-to-2 battle is about to break out. Teng Xiyuan and the lookout warriors only had 3 grenades, a rifle and a pistol, and Teng Xiyuan was in danger and decided to play an empty city plan.
He first threw a grenade to scare the enemy, and then the two fired their guns into the air together. The purpose of firing the gun is twofold: one is to scare the enemy and make them mistakenly think that they are surrounded, and the other is to use the sound of gunfire to inform friendly troops that there is hostility here. While shooting the gun, he also shouted: "Surrender the gun and do not kill the prisoners!" ”
The enemy army was also blinded, and for a moment they could not understand the situation and did not dare to act rashly. When a large force of our army arrived, it reimbursed more than 200 enemy people in a few minutes. After the war, Teng Xiyuan was awarded the first class merit again, and this time Su Yu, deputy commander of Huaye, awarded Teng Xiyuan a shell gun, which is the origin of Teng Xiyuan's second shell gun.

At the end of 1950, Teng Xiyuan took a car from Fujian to fight in North Korea and became an "explosion hero" on the Korean battlefield.
In 1953, Teng's forces fought in the Mapingli area of North Korea when they encountered American tanks. The Volunteers did not have particularly effective anti-tank means, and the only way to deal with American tanks was to blast with explosive packs. But who knows how dangerous it is to blast tanks armed to the teeth.
Teng Xiyuan volunteered as the commander of the artillery company and quietly approached the US tanks at night. Teng Xiyuan recalled that at that time, he thought he must not be able to go back. But fortunately, the explosive package detonated smoothly, and Teng Xiyuan retreated completely, thus becoming the hero of the Korean battlefield.

Teng Xiyuan has participated in more than 1,500 large and small battles such as the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the War of Liberation, and the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, and has won 3 first-class merits, twice second-class merits, and three third-class merits. And the two shell guns awarded to him by the old chief have become the testimony of his life and the memory of the glory years.

In an interview with reporters, Elder Teng showed the instructions for holding a gun issued by the 6206 unit of the People's Liberation Army in 1982: All gun bearers must carry a gun license; the weapons in their hands must be strictly kept and cared for; they must not play with weapons casually, and it is forbidden to shoot indiscriminately.

For Teng Lao, the shell gun is no longer a weapon, but a beloved souvenir. During the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Anti-Japanese War in 2015, Elder Teng also provided his beloved shell gun to the Laiwu Battle Memorial Hall for educational exhibition.
