There are five major causes that can cause a foreign body sensation in the pharynx:

1. Throat diseases: all kinds of laryngitis, chronic tonsillitis, tonsil stones, polyps, keratosis, cysts, scars and abscesses, uvula are too long, nasopharynx, oropharynx, laryngeal and tongue root foreign bodies, benign and malignant tumors, styloid syndrome, etc. can lead to pharyngeal foreign body sensation.

2. Nasal diseases: Nasal and nasopharyngeal diseases such as sinusitis, nasal secretions are not drained smoothly, resulting in reflux into the throat, that is, retronasal drip syndrome.

3. Gastric and esophageal diseases: such as esophageal spasm, diverticulum, achalasia, reflux esophagitis, reflux laryngitis, early malignant tumors, etc.

4. Neck diseases: such as neck lumps, fistulas, lymphadenitis, nail and tongue cysts, thyroid diseases, tumors, carotid arteritis, cervical spondylosis, etc.

5. Mental factors: such as mood swings and long-term excessive tension, fatigue, etc. Such patients are mostly affected by factors such as anger, anxiety, depression, grief, and paranoia

In terms of treatment, according to the specific condition, the use of etiology-specific treatment regimens, such as drugs, surgery and other treatment methods, auxiliary ultrasound atomization, drug throat spraying, physical or psychological therapy and other relief of patient discomfort.

Two teas can also help relieve throat discomfort:
