The 92-year-old Chen Mianchang, the grandson of Chen Baofeng, recalls the grand occasion of singing and teaching opera in the village, and he still remembers it vividly.
Chao opera has taken deep root in Fengjiao Village. In 1953, Fengjiao Village founded the Amateur Chao Opera Troupe, and the 50 members of the troupe were all villagers of the village, who used their free time to rehearse many plays.
Later, the troupe was dissolved, but the old friends would still get together, singing chao opera and practicing chao opera in their leisure time, and their music was harmonious.
Chao opera also had an impact on the younger generation in Fengjiao Village.
Chen Shaojia, a post-90s young man engaged in design work, often learns and disseminates Chao opera through the Internet.
In the strong atmosphere, the children of Fengjiao Village have also liked chao opera since they were young.
In recent years, the "two committees" of the village have led the cadres and masses of the whole village to vigorously develop economic, educational, and cultural undertakings, effectively promoting the process of building rural civilization, and giving the village a new look.
On the west side of National Highway 324, along the north bank of the Xinjin River, you can see the Fengjiao Ancient Ferry.
