49th Army of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (1949.3-1951.1) (1951.7-1952.1)
On February 1, 1949, in accordance with the order of the Central Military Commission of November 1, 1948 on the unification of the organization and number of the whole army, the 12th Column of the Northeast Field Army was renamed the 49th Army of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and was subordinate to the Fourth Field Army. In January 1951, the 49th Army was abolished and the Military Department was merged with the Guangxi Military Region. It was rebuilt in July 1951 on the basis of the 154th Division, and was rescheduled in January 1952. The army has a glorious combat history of 3 years.
