Hong Kong, 12 Jul (Xinhua) -- The one-year-postponed Hong Kong Book Fair will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center from July 14 to 20. United Publishing Group, Hong Kong's largest comprehensive publishing group, will bring more than 320 new books to the book fair and present a rich cultural feast for the public in the form of multimedia.

At a press conference held on the 12th, Liang Rongxi, general manager of the business development and public relations department of United Publishing Group, said that the book fair is the largest exhibition since the epidemic, and the public has accumulated a certain amount of consumption power. "It is hoped that the HK$5,000 consumption voucher scheme launched by the HKSAR Government will bring about an early consumption effect, and express cautious optimism about the sales of the book fair."

During the book fair, the Group's publishing houses, including Sanlian Bookstore, Zhonghua Bookstore, Commercial Press, Wanli Institution, etc., launched more than 320 new books, and the audio e-books and online courses launched by the Group's knowledge service software "Zhishu", and the online cultural reading platform "One Book" simultaneously conducted an online book fair, which will also bring readers a rich cultural experience.

It is worth mentioning that in response to the HKSAR Government's vaccination scheme, the Group will donate HK$1 million each to the public welfare person signed "A Retired Cultural Worker Who Wishes to Unite Hong Kong's Positive Energy" to hold a book voucher lottery, and eligible Hong Kong citizens who have been vaccinated can participate in the lottery, up to a maximum of HK$10,000 book vouchers.

As a cultural enterprise serving Hong Kong for more than 100 years, United Publishing Group has always shouldered its due social responsibility. According to Li Jiping, Vice Chairman and President of the Group, during the epidemic period, the Group launched a variety of anti-epidemic books, distributed 350,000 copies of the "COVID-19 Epidemic Protection Reader" free of charge, and held large-scale online public welfare cultural activities to work with the whole Hong Kong people to prevent and fight the epidemic in order to read and comfort the soul.
