On the morning of September 14, Xu Xiangping, director of the Provincial Department of Commerce, and Zhang Shen, president of the Hunan Branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, and his party held talks on deepening economic and trade cooperation with Africa. Deputy Director Li Xinqiu and ICBC Provincial Branch Vice President Qin Tanping attended the meeting.

Xu Xiangping pointed out that since September last year, with the participation and cooperation of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, the Provincial Department of Commerce has focused on promoting the construction of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Innovation Demonstration Park, the China-Africa Cross-border RMB Center, and the China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Research Association. In the next stage, the Provincial Department of Commerce will integrate the resources of all parties and focus on building six support systems and mechanisms for economic and trade cooperation with Africa: first, set up a fund for economic and trade cooperation with Africa to serve the library of China-Africa cooperation projects; second, establish and improve the trade financing mechanism; third, explore the mode of barter trade; fourth, build a cross-border payment system between China and Africa; fifth, build a digital economic and trade system; and sixth, do a good job in market-oriented service systems. It is hoped that the two sides will start from specific issues, base themselves on national strategies and local development needs, give full play to the platform advantages of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo and the China-Africa Economic and Trade In-depth Cooperation Pilot Zone, accelerate reform and innovation, pay close attention to the construction of a number of projects, and achieve new development around new formats.

Zhang Shen thanked the Provincial Department of Commerce for its support to ICBC. He said that the Hunan Branch of ICBC will continue to improve the level of professional services based on the national strategy, comprehensively deepen cooperation with the Provincial Department of Commerce, and fully support cooperation with Africa around key projects, key initiatives and mechanisms, so as to make greater contributions to the opening up and rise of the province.

The heads of the China-Africa Secretariat and the West Asia and Africa Division of the Department, the heads of the Office and the International Department of the Hunan Branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, and the preparatory group of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Research Association accompanied the participant.
