In the 1950s, a thousand-year-old tea tree was found in Huangshan Mountain, Yibin County, several feet tall, and the two could hug each other. Thousand-year-old tea trees have also been found in Hanwang Mountain in Gaoxian County.
In Yibin, tea has been nurtured for three thousand years
According to the "History of Tang", there are more than 50 kinds of famous teas in the Tang Dynasty, of which 18 are from Sichuan tea, and Yibin (Gurongzhou) famous tea is also listed. For example, "Luming Tea" is produced in Luming Village, Caoying County, and "Meiling Tea" is produced in Xingwen Meiling.
According to the different tea processing methods, Yibin produced "milled tea" in the Tang Dynasty, "brick tea" in the Song Dynasty, and "scissor tea" in the Yuan Dynasty and Ming Dynasty. The "Chronicle of Xuzhou Prefecture" during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty contains: the county has white tea, Kuding tea, red and white vine tea ("Records of Ancient Song County"), and Tangba produces "yellow bud tea" ("Records of Junlian County").
