Under the "double subtraction", parents use this "key" to easily open their children's intellectual potential

In Tsinghua University's 2021 freshman package, there is a book recommended by the school to read "The Old Man and the Sea". It has become normal for universities to attach a book list or a book to new students when sending admission letters, and Tsinghua University has sent a new book with the admission letter every year for seven consecutive years, and has sent "Wangu River", "From 1 to Infinity", "The Story of Art" and so on.

"Reading can give people spiritual strength and shape people's spiritual qualities." Francis Bacon said, 'Whatever you learn, becomes a character'. Tsinghua Garden is a good place to read, and groups of Tsinghua students enlighten their minds, broaden their horizons, and explore the future in the fragrance of Qing Yun books..." In a letter to new students, Qiu Yong, president of Tsinghua University, wrote.

Reading is indispensable at any time, and it is not too late to start at any time. For primary and secondary school students, it is crucial to make good use of large free time on weekends and holidays, read more books, and read good books.

Pleasant reading experiences bring pleasant memories of childhood

At the beginning of this semester, with the implementation of the "double reduction" policy, subject training has been greatly reduced, and weekends and holidays have "returned" to the hands of children. Holiday time is free, what should I do? In my opinion, in addition to participating in outdoor sports and getting in touch with nature, reading is the most suitable thing for students to do at home during the holidays.

I remember my childhood, when the Internet was not yet developed, and the most time-consuming thing to spend during the holidays was reading. I have two large bookcases in my house, and I can't finish the books I want to read. In the summer, I like to hide in a shady place alone and flip through books, often reading fascinatingly. When I grew up, I once read Mr. Liu Xuyuan's "History of Chinese Children's Literature", saw the works listed above in the last century, and recalled the reading time of childhood, Mr. Ren Dalin's "Childhood Friends" and Mr. Ren Rongrong's "Brainless and Unhappy", as well as "Shining Red Star" and "Little Soldier Zhang Ga", etc., all of which I read in my childhood - those summer vacation afternoon reading times on the bamboo bed, the kind of smile that I thought I would read when I read it flashed in front of my eyes. Also, laughing with my friends when I read The Story of Nosov in the library... These scenes all come to mind, and the sense of happiness that seems to travel through time is the reading experience of childhood, which reminds me of childhood at any time only joy.

Reading allows us to feel real warmth and love in excellent words. Beautiful words are far more than just bringing us sensual pleasure, but also enlightening the heart, drawing a warm sky, and allowing children to grow freely under the sky with confidence.

Early childhood learning is like lacquer, and reading enlightens children's intelligence

My father liked classical literature, and incidentally, my brother and I must memorize Tang poems and Song Ci from an early age, as well as many famous passages in the "Ancient Literature Guanzhi", and always have to memorize them before they can play downstairs. The ancient text grew longer and longer, such as "Mulan Ci", "Peach Blossom Origin", "Cao Jie Controversy", etc., all of which were written in the mind at that time. The ancient poems memorized in the Language class have basically been forgotten, and the poems memorized as children are still there.

The method of learning ancient Chinese and Tang poetry, I used it for my son. When he was only three years old, I began to try to hypnotize with ancient poems, starting with "bright moonlight before the bed", one after another, the longest Tang poem we tried was the 88-sentence "Pipa Line" to make a lullaby, during that time, I repeated the memories of my childhood, happy to do it, and for my son, he could still memorize the 88 Tang poems word for word. Throughout his childhood, my son was able to recite the "Pipa Line", which has always been a proud thing in our family, and for him, it is estimated that to this day, he can still recite the "Pipa Line" very smoothly.

It reminds me of Zuckerberg, who accompanied his wife to read pictures of Quantum Physics for Babies with his daughter when she was full moon and wrote a letter to her daughter. I was surprised, why is it a picture book of quantum physics? When I got the book, I found that the concept of physics in the book was described as a origin, protons and atoms are all red and blue circles, surrounded together, just like the apples and pears we usually see, this is the brilliance of literature, it gives the child the understanding of the world, just like when the child is still a blank piece of paper, what is fed to him, he can instinctively accept. Zuckerberg wanted to imprint his daughter's initial fondness for books and a hazy imprint of the microscopic world. This is probably also what the ancients said, "early learning is like lacquer".

From this point of view, parent-child reading may really be a key to unlocking the child's intellectual potential. For children of any age, the connection between reading and reality is a very important step in their understanding of the world. When the number of books you read increases, your reading horizons broaden, your horizons are opened and enriched; your knowledge of the world, your indirect experience and comprehension ability are also accumulating, and these accumulations give you the opportunity to read more esoteric and more difficult books, and also have the opportunity to participate in more layered dialogues.

Seemingly aimless reading, in fact, will touch the bypass

I have a lot of books in my house, so my children naturally read a lot of them. Every night, he would put a book on the side of his pillow, and the last scene before going to bed was when the two of them read and chatted together; over time, they naturally read a lot of books. Older, it seems that inadvertently, he liked mathematics, wanted to delve into it, asked me for a first-grade math book, and then used the spare time to start self-study, I looked at him, very pleased, feel that reading deepened a child's understanding and comprehension!

I think the charm of reading is that it looks aimless and disorganized, but the more you read, the previous experience will lead to the current reading, so that the reading experience is not isolated, but traceable. And at different ages, you can read different situations.

Last year, I was invited by a publishing house to write a guide to famous books, so I reread books such as "The Old Man and the Sea", "Hans Christian Andersen's Fairy Tales", and "The Adventures of the Bragging King", which I found very interesting. Compared with the reading when I was a child, this re-reading has read a different situation.

"Accept the challenge of fate and keep fighting" is the impression I once read "The Old Man and the Sea"; this time, I saw the invisible hand in the sea, saw its attitude towards an old man who had suffered from wind and frost, and saw the helplessness and compromise of the old man... But even so, the old man's tenacious will was still there, and he constantly warned himself that man would not be easily defeated, so that his understanding of the famous works was deeper. Reading "The Emperor's New Clothes", I will think that the interlocking of that kind of blindness is because the soil of selfish desires plays a subtle role, and if there is no child's word, the seemingly ridiculous lies will continue to ferment and amplify! When I read "The Princess of the Pea", I kept thinking that the so-called noble soul is unbearable even the bump of a tiny pea.

In fact, the brain also has a role, when we read different books, the brain will help sort out those contents, touch bypass. Piaget turned out to be a biologist, and he applied the study of biology to the psychoanalysis of children, and he was successful!

I understand that reading is a very mysterious process of building an inner knowledge platform and imagination space, although inadvertent, but it is constantly going on. The human brain is very magical, as long as you keep reading, it will leave what you have read in a corner and retrieve it when you need it; it can even help you sort out and summarize, and sort out the threads. What it gives you is not only the nourishment of literature, but also gives you the understanding and comprehension of learning unknown areas, frames of reference and reasonable associations, providing the necessary reserves for you to learn anything and read any text later. When there are more books to read, at a certain moment, they will sprout, blossom, bear fruit in the heart, and drift out a wisp of fragrance.

In this way, reading in childhood is like storing a fragrant book for yourself.

So, put down your phone, find a book, and read it with your child!
