On October 19th, the Spirit of the Congratulatory Letter Symposium to Study General Secretary Xi Jinping's Message to Yangshao Cultural Discovery and the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Modern Chinese Archaeology was held at Xinyang Normal University. Wang Wenchen, deputy secretary of the party committee and chairman of the trade union, attended the meeting, and Ding Shaofeng, member of the school's party committee and minister of propaganda, and members of the team of the College of History and Culture, as well as representatives of teachers and students attended the meeting. Wang Wenchen pointed out that the College of History and Culture studied the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the first time, which fully demonstrated that the college team had high political awareness, strong learning spirit and hard professional quality, showing that the college paid close attention to the construction of disciplines, played the role of historical and cultural education, and promoted the goal of "educating people with history".
Wang Wenchen stressed that the congratulatory letter embodies the general secretary's deep concern for modern archaeology, highly affirms the origin and development of Chinese civilization, gives play to the role of Chinese history and culture, and plays an important position in world civilization. He put forward four requirements: First, we must focus on consolidating the role of historical and cultural bacon in casting the soul. Use history and culture to cultivate, edify, and shape people, and inject spiritual impetus into the cultivation of talents needed by the party and the state. Second, we must abide by the correct and innovative historical and cultural education model.
