Notice of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ministry of Justice on Carrying Out Special Inspection Activities for Commutation, Parole, and Medical Parole (File Type: Photo Archive; Place of Preservation: Supreme People's Procuratorate Archives)
In Response to the problems in commutation, parole, and medical parole, in May 2004, the Supreme People's Procuratorate, together with the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Justice, organized a special inspection activity for commutation, parole, and medical parole. By the end of 2004, procuratorial organs across the country had cleared up 1.209 million cases of commutation, parole, and medical parole, and put forward more than 20,000 corrective opinions on problems found in inspections. In 2005, the Supreme People's Procuratorate deployed in some local procuratorial organs to carry out key inspections and supervision of the implementation of "nine categories of personnel" such as convicts of crimes abusing public office, criminals involved in criminal syndicates and drugs, such as commutation, parole, and temporary imprisonment, and achieved good results. In 2007, the Supreme People's Procuratorate successively issued the Procedural Provisions on Legal Supervision of Sentence Commutation and Parole and the Opinions on Strengthening the Procuratorial Supervision of Offenders Who Have Left or Missed Their Duties Outside of Prison, effectively improving the quality and effectiveness of supervision of criminal punishment enforcement and supervision activities.
