Since the first batch of old films collected in 1998, Liu Xinping, a farmer in Pingxiang County, Hebei Province, has collected more than 3,000 old films, more than 40 film projectors, as well as film posters, film appraisals, curtains, etc., becoming a well-known film collector. Over the years, he has not only screened red films for schools and villages in the county for free, but also been invited to serve as a public welfare projectionist for the Pingxiang County Science and Technology Museum, regularly screening popular science films. Liu Xinping said that in the next step, he wants to build an old film collection, so that more young people can contact old movies, understand old movies, fall in love with old movies, and let the light and shadow memories of history be passed on.
