Rust ticks are important pest mites on citrus, once the outbreak can cause a large number of black fruits in a short period of time, the victim fruit is not only low in appearance, but also makes it sour and astringent, seriously affecting the income of fruit growers.
Combine the relevant characteristics of rust ticks to talk about its prevention and control, if there is any impropriety, welcome to leave a message to correct.

Where the nutrition is, the rust ticks are there!
Don't look at the rust ticks with a cute look, in fact, they are still quite active, not only can squirm and crawl, but also bounce. Good athletic ability allows them to migrate on citrus trees in search of the best food source.
In the spring, rusty ticks gradually shift from old leaves to new shoots, and when young fruits appear, they will shift from spring shoots to fruits. Before the citrus harvest, rusty ticks migrate to the axillary buds, leaves and young yellow branches of the summer and autumn shoots for pest and overwintering.
It can be said that where the nutrient concentration of citrus in various periods is, the rust tick is there! At present, the rusty ticks are being pre-transferred to the young fruits, and we must do a good job of inspection work and strengthen prevention.
In addition, it is worth noting that rust ticks will be concentrated on 1 leaf or 1 fruit at the beginning, but when the leaves and fruits turn black, they will begin to transfer, so once individual fruits are found to be yellow and gray (the skin of rust ticks), they should be immediately controlled by medicine.
What makes rusty ticks so rampant?
Agricultural mites have been a major pest of fruit trees, vegetables and food crops since the 1970s. They are small, fast-breeding, adaptable, and after a long period of baptism of medicine, resistance has risen rapidly, and now it is somewhat out of control.
Rust ticks have a long harmful period in citrus, and there are many algebras, and a large number of frequent use of insecticidal acaricides for a long time is exchanged for a decline in the number of natural enemies and an increase in rust tick resistance.
There are many insect diseases on citrus, and canker disease, as an important disease in citrus, often uses copper preparations in prevention and control. However, copper preparations will stimulate the growth and development of rust ticks, and can also kill a large number of important natural enemies polychaetes.
Some orchards are cleared or overuse of herbicides causes soil exposure for a long time, natural enemies in orchards reduce hosts, temperature rises, humidity drops, and rust ticks occur more heavily.
Why is citrus rust tick not well controlled?
1) The prevention and treatment time is too late, small, difficult to see with the naked eye, and it is too late to find the symptoms of victimization.
2) It can breed about 20 generations per year, overlapping generations, and it is difficult to prevent and control after the outbreak, and it is easy to suffer for many years.
3) Prevention and treatment of improper choice of medication, as well as spraying is not in place.
How to prevent and control rust ticks?
1) Agricultural control
Strengthening cultivation management, especially the fertilizer and water management of tree bodies, increasing the application of organic fertilizers, and using biological stimulants, will help improve the ecological environment of orchards, make plants grow robustly, and enhance resistance to diseases and insects.
Cover plants can be planted between the rows and around the periphery to increase the humidity of the orchard, reduce the occurrence of rust ticks, and timely irrigation and drought resistance during the high temperature and dry season.
2) Biological control
Protecting the natural enemies of rust ticks, mainly mite-eating ladybugs, predatory mites, tumor-bearing long-whisker mites, thrips and polymycetes.
Among them, polygonites are the most effective inhibition of natural enemies of rust ticks, and fungicides should be avoided when rust ticks are in full bloom to protect polychaetes.
In case of drought, it is necessary to irrigate in time, and if possible, sprinkler irrigation can be carried out to make the environment in the park moist, which is conducive to the growth and development of polychaetes.
3) Chemical control
Do a good job of clearing the garden
After entering the winter, the dead branches, diseased branches and weak branches are cut off, and the tree trunks are burned outside the garden, and the trunks are brushed with lime water, combined with medicinal agents to clear the garden, eliminating the source of overwintering insects.
Observe the insect situation
Rust ticks generally start from May on the back of the young leaves of the spring shoots, the back of the affected leaves is black-brown network pattern, and causes a large number of leaves to fall, to pay attention to, start to control. From the beginning of June, the fruits will be transferred, and it is necessary to regularly inspect the whole garden, and now individual fruits are yellow and gray, and the medicinal control is carried out immediately to avoid the transfer and spread.
Pharmacy selection
1. Low incidence: In previous years, there was no harm in the orchard, and the overall local incidence rate was low.
Reference medication in May: avermectin + spiromethrin; avermectin + manganese zinc (daisen has inhibitory effect)
Reference medication from June to July: spirogyrate + mite urea, or avi + mite urea alone, or Avi + lice mite urea
Reference medication from August to September: avermectin + biphenylhydrazine ester;
Note: In this way, rust ticks and red spiders have been prevented at the same time; spraying should be careful, and the leaf back, leaf surface, and branches should be sprayed in place.
