Gill rot disease of goldfish is the disease with the highest mortality rate of goldfish, in other words, what diseases in goldfish do not have a high mortality rate?
Goldfish gill disease has two kinds of parasites and bacteria, treatment we have to carefully distinguish, gills are used as oxygen exchange places for goldfish, once this part is infected with parasites or bacteria, if not treated in time, goldfish will not be spared all the light.

But the fish farming has been emphasizing the principle of not seeing the real disease and not taking medicine, if it is a goldfish with gill disease, there will be signs of breathing difficulties, loss of appetite, mental atrophy, lack of oxygen, we can fully see it, for example, although this goldfish will have a certain appetite, but no matter how to grab food, as long as the food grabbing action stops, it will immediately float to the surface, as if it is all the activities in the water, it is not important to breathe on the surface of the water.
Isn't this action obvious enough to be seen? Even if the oxygen is sufficient, well filtered they still have to go to the surface of the water, as if they can't stay under the water, and they can't go up to the surface of the water, they also have to swallow the air head-up, which is called hypoxia, the result is clear at a glance, the normal drift to the surface of the water that does not count.
The so-called normal goldfish will not have the above performance, their gills if opened must be bright red, and the gills with gill disease must be yellow or white, the gills of the gills must be yellow or white, the opening degree of the gill cover is also larger than other goldfish, the respiratory rate will never be normal, not too slow or too fast, the gill disease of the goldfish often breaks out in the seasonal transition period, most of them are still bacterial, the real parasites are very few, open the gill cover We can also see, most of the anti-inflammatory drugs can be cured.
But today there is a picture sent to me by an aquarist, this kind of goldfish's gills are really not gill disease, you can see the above picture, it seems that the gills of the fish are very red, but in fact, the fish does not have any hypoxia performance, from the state of everything is normal, so why does this aquarist want to treat it as gill disease? It's because I really don't understand.
Including the goldfish in the picture above is also one of them, they are a kind of soft scale goldfish, the old way of raising fish before also said that they are born with this virtue, either the gills are relatively thin, or the gills are red, but that is the gill cover redness and the gill wire inside has nothing to do, normal goldfish do have gill cover rotten redness, and the normal redness of this gill cover is completely different, we must distinguish.
There is also a kind of goldfish called flipper goldfish, there is no gill cover at all, it is not rotten and innate, it is not a disease state, now this goldfish is difficult to find, but some goldfish species or grass goldfish will also have such a return gene, so if we are not clear, it does not matter, look at the state, must see how the state of the fish, everything is normal, there is no hypoxic floating head performance, we do not have to pay attention to it.
I am a veteran of fish farming, more ornamental fish problems please pay attention, thank you!
