Identification points: large and stout, long tail. Adult plumage is all black and shiny , with only the upper back , wings and wing coverts being chestnut red. The juvenile body feathers are dark grey , lack luster , and the wings are densely covered with black stripes. The iris is red, the beak is black, and the feet are black.

Habits and habitats: It prefers to inhabit lowland forest margins, secondary shrublands, reed banks and mangroves up to 800 m above sea level. It often moves around the ground and also beats among the shrubs and woods.

Habits and Habitat: Resident birds. It inhabits evergreen broad-leaved forests, bamboo forests and mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forests, often in pairs or as family groups, and forms large groups in winter. Forage for seeds, fruits, insects, etc. under the forest. It is widely distributed throughout Fujian.

Identification points: body length 22 cm, the top of the head to the back of the slate gray, the forehead has a broad white band and along the upper part of the circle to the back of the eye, the lower cheek, chin, throat black, the two wings black with broad white wing spots, the base of the primary flight feathers are white and form small white spots, the waist and tail coverts are white, the chest to the lower abdomen is white, the tail is black but the tip is white, long and forked. The juvenile resembles a white-crowned swallowtail but has white patches at the base of the primary flight feathers. The iris is black, the beak is black, and the feet are pink.

Habits and Habitat: Resident birds. It inhabits streams, valleys and ditches in low- and medium-altitude mountains, hills and plains, mostly alone or in pairs between rocks in shallow waters, resting on pebbles, and often swinging up and down.

Identification points: body length 30-34 cm, head is large and dark blue, the upper back to the chest is olive brown, the upper body remains and tail feathers are green, the wing coverts are sometimes slightly dyed blue, the lower body is slightly yellow with dark green longitudinal stripes, and the tail coverts are bright red. The iris is brown, the beak is yellow and the ends are black, and the feet are gray.

Habits and Habitat: Resident birds. It inhabits evergreen forests and can reach mid-altitude areas above 2000 meters. It eats the fruits of broad-leaved trees in large quantities, but also eats insects, flying like woodpeckers, and sometimes several birds gather in one place to call.
