On October 26, the 18th Standing Committee Meeting of the Ninth CPPCC Committee was held.

At the meeting, Zhou Xiaodong, chairman of the CPPCC county committee, demanded that the CPPCC organizations and the vast number of CPPCC members throughout the county should unify their thinking and actions with the major policy decisions and arrangements for comprehensively and strictly administering the party; they should strengthen their political responsibility, perform their political duties, and actively support the building of a sound party style and a clean and honest administration and the anti-corruption struggle; they should enhance their political determination and always uphold the party's leadership; they should firmly grasp the two major themes of unity and democracy, always adhere to the principles of CPPCC work, and give full play to the functions of political consultation, democratic supervision, and participation in and discussion of state affairs.
