Rabbit hemorrhagic virus type 2 was found for the first time in China, there is currently no vaccine available, and the top priority is to strengthen the non-specific immunity of rabbits

Rabbit hemorrhage, commonly known as rabbit plague.
Rabbit plague is caused by rabbit hemorrhagic virus (RHDV), often outbreak epidemics, infected rabbits usually die 48 to 72 hours after infection, the mortality rate is as high as 90%, is a severe, highly contagious, acute and fatal rabbit major epidemic, causing huge economic losses to the world rabbit industry.
In 2010, a variant of RHDV2 appeared in Europe that differed from the classical rabbit hemorrhagic virus in terms of systemogenesis and antigenic properties, and the classic rabbit hemorrhagic vaccine could not provide rabbit protection against RHDV2.
Previously, there have been no reports of RHDV2 in China.
Recently, laboratory tests were conducted on suspected rabbit hemorrhage disease materials sent for examination at a rabbit farm in Sichuan, and it was clearly caused by RHDV2 pathogenic infection after tests and verifications such as red blood cell agglutination test, RT-PCR detection, gene sequencing, and virus isolation and identification.
This is the first report of the discovery of RHDV2 in China.
At present, there is no vaccine available for use in China, which should be paid great attention to.
Take steps:
1. Pay attention to biosecurity, use biological disinfectants for environmental disinfection and rabbit disinfection
2. Enhance the non-specific immunity of rabbits, such as: free drinking water, fermentation of traditional Chinese medicine fermented Qi Kang mixture
3. Maintain nutritional balance, intestinal flora balance, etc
