Fifth stop: Mangarewa Island

Mangarewa Island in the Gambir Archipelago of French Polynesia is the fifth stop on the way to Pitcairn, with a 1-hour ferry ride from Totegi Island to Mangareva Island.

From about the 10th to the 15th century, thousands of people lived on the island of Mangarewa. Excessive deforestation has led to the complete destruction of the vegetation of Mangarewa Island, and environmental changes have had disastrous economic and livelihood consequences. The islanders were plunged into civil strife and even cannibalism, and their contact with the outside world was forced to break. Archaeology has confirmed the existence of this period of devastated civilization. Today, the island's resources can only sustain a few hundred people.

Stop 6: Pitcairn Island

The destination, Pitcairn Island, is the sixth stop, a 32-hour passenger and cargo ferry ride from Mangarewa Island to Pitcairn Island. There is only one flight per week, departing on Tuesdays (6 cabins, 12 beds in total).

The boat ride is boring, and there is a feeling to do:

The lonely boat is deep and upside down, and the eyes cannot see the edge. Five hundred miles around, there is no island lack of people.

Long lying dizzy, short trance. Drifting for two days and nights, the food is difficult to swallow.
