Among them, "Nezha Noisy Sea" is China's first wide-screen animation film, which won the 1980 Ministry of Culture Excellent Film and the 3rd Hundred Flowers Award for Best Fine Art Film, the 1982 Manila International Film Festival International Special Award, the 1988 French 7th Boul boulolas Cultural Club Youth International Animation Film Festival Jury Award and the Widescreen Long Animation Film Award.

Wang Shuchen once served as the deputy director of The Shanghai Fine Arts Film Studio and the director of the Art Committee. He, Xu Jingda and Zhan Tongyin are recognized as the "Three Musketeers" of American films, and their common feature is the pursuit of the national artistry of Chinese art films, and constantly explore the artistic path of Chinese art films. The common cause, the common ideal, brought them together, and they not only achieved outstanding results in the fine art film career, but also had a good performance in other fields such as comic art. The recently published [[Selected Paintings of Wang Shuchen]] has caused quite a stir among peers. Fifteen years after his death, it is indeed valuable that his works can still arouse great repercussions and attention.
Wang Shuchen is one of the founders of Chinese art films, and during his lifetime he wrote and directed more than 20 films, such as "Over the Monkey Mountain", "Golden Dream", "Nezha Noisy Sea", "Tianshu Qitan", "Beauty Pageant", "Canoe Bridge" and "Landscape and Water" are his representative works in different periods. "Over the Monkey Mountain" is a famous work that he began to mature as an independent director, and this film pioneered the method of early recording and achieved success. "Golden Dream" has opened up a new world for Chinese art and film art in the form of comic caricature. "Nezha Noisy Sea" is the first color widescreen film in the history of Chinese art cinema, he wrote the screenplay for the first time under the stage name of "Wang Xiang", and this film is listed as a classic film of Shanghai Fine Arts Film Studio along with six films such as "The Great Haunting of Tiangong" and "Tianshu Qitan". The script for the 1988 Shanghai International Animation Film Festival's Chinese ink animation film ShanshuiQing was written by him and was another culmination of his choreography career. "Pageant" and "Canoe Bridge" are the late works of his independent choreographers, who have made bold explorations and attempts in the art form and style of the film, using the technique of critical realism, borrowing ancient irony from the present, using objects to refer to people, acupuncturing the shortcomings of the times, and awakening people's thirst for conscience! Being able to choreograph and direct and draw is his characteristic, and it is his extraordinary feature. In 1979, his comic strip "The Dialogue between the Monk and the Bald Man" was rated as an excellent work by "Irony and Humor", and in 1982, the comic "Returning from the Scriptures" won the National Comic Book Exhibition Award.
