"Clouds and waters are impermanent, and this shore and the other shore are only separated by a thought." As the first feature film given by the emerging director, "Yunshui" cuts through the perspective of three men and tells a story about "reincarnation" and "redemption". In the waters of southern China, the hotelier Wang Haili, the senior monk Samchen, and the playboy Fang Yiguo, each experiencing the test of desire, embarked on a journey of redemption related to faith by chance, finding a place of peace for themselves. The three people in the story travel back and forth through the interlaced time and space, creating inextricable connections, touching the boundaries of reality and illusion.

The director was born in Hunan in 1987 and graduated from the Directing Department of the Beijing Film Academy with a master's degree. In 2014, he donated the completed graduation short film "Summer Diary of bright moon", which was shortlisted for the wide-angle lens unit of the 19th Busan International Film Festival and won the Wolfgang Best Original Short Film Award at the 34th Munich Academy Awards in Germany. Whether it is a script or a film, Zeng Zhi has been trying to blur the boundary between reality and dream with a unique audiovisual language and image style. In "Yunshui", she tries to achieve a deeper discussion of sin and faith, human nature and the propositions of the times from a more macroscopic perspective.
