Movie Synopsis: A Generation of Proud Horses is based on a true story.
Penny Chenali (Diane Lane) is an ordinary housewife. She knew almost nothing about horse racing, but in the face of opposition from her brother and husband, she took over the farm in Virginia from her sick father. Although the racecourse had been losing money for a long time, she still had to struggle between Colorado at home and Virginia, where the racecourse was located. In order to find a good horse, Penny specially finds the returning horse trainer Lu xi'an (John Malkovich), the old man who always complains a lot, but treats the layman Penny differently. Penny glanced at a maroon foal in the racecourse that could stand as soon as she was born and rolled, and named it "Secretary". Under Lu xi'an's personality training, the "secretary" was a blockbuster when he first came out. It was as fast as lightning, as fast as a flight, like a warrior, and even excited by the vibration of the arena. When it's finally time to win or lose, will the "secretary" withstand all the pressures and live up to Penny's expectations and become the first horse to win the U.S. Triple Crown in 25 years?
