author:China Securities Journal

China Securities Network News (reporter Dong Tian) on October 27, the reporter learned from the transfer group that at present, in the second-hand 3C and other categories, the transfer group has established an online and offline integration of the "Internet +" recycling model, through the provision of "worry-free selling", "guaranteed sale", quality inspection and after-sales service, including to promote the recycling and recycling of idle resources, but also let more consumers understand, accept and get used to idle goods trading, which is a low-carbon and environmentally friendly lifestyle that everyone can participate in. It avoids some unnecessary energy consumption and carbon emissions in the production and living links.

As a representative enterprise of circular economy, at the end of 2020, the transfer group upgraded its corporate mission to "let people enjoy the happiness of idle transactions, so that the world is more sustainable due to circulation"; in April 2021, it joined hands with the China Circular Economy Association and the Circular Economy Industry Research Center of the School of Environment of Tsinghua University to launch the "Circular Economy Carbon Neutrality Action Initiative" and became the first batch of "carbon neutral" pilot enterprises; in September this year, the group released the "Leading Green Low-carbon Life - Idle Trading System" It was also rated as "Beijing Green and Low Carbon Demonstration Case" at the 2021 Beijing Internet Conference.

Institutional data show that the market size of China's idle goods transactions has increased rapidly from about 300 billion yuan in 2015 to more than one trillion yuan in 2020, covering almost all consumer goods, and it is expected that the market transaction size will be close to 3 trillion yuan in 2025. In September this year, the Institute of Energy, Environment and Economics of Tsinghua University and other institutions jointly released the "Sustainable Development Report in the Field of China's Idle Goods Trading", which pointed out that as an important part of the circular economy, idle goods trading has also begun to play an important role in carbon emission reduction.

The report pointed out that promoting the circulation of idle goods can not only strengthen the recycling of goods resources, but also reduce environmental pollution and achieve carbon emission reduction. Taking mobile phones as an example, each second-hand mobile phone transaction can reduce carbon by at least about 25 kilograms, and the carbon emission reduction of idle circulation of large commodities such as refrigerators is even higher. After calculating the business data of the domestic idle goods trading platform, the report found that since its establishment in 2015 to the end of 2020, the transfer platform has reduced carbon by 1.783 million tons through the circulation of idle goods, which is about equivalent to 250,000 laps of fuel vehicles around the equator.
