It is reported that Shinichi Tsuki plays matsudaira Katara, the boss of the Makoto group who can survive as long as he remembers one, Ryo Katsuji plays Shigeru Tokugawa, the 14th generation of the Tokugawa shogunate with special braking skills, and Natsuki plays the perverted and myopic former shogunate elite female ninja ape flying calamus. The story of Gintama 2 is taken from the "True Selection Group Unrest" in the original game, which depicts the hot relationship between The House of All Things and the True Selection Group, and the "General Reception Chapter" in which the popular character Shogun appears.

The live-action film Gintama 2: Rules Exist to Be Broken is still directed by Yuichi Fukuda, and Oguri, who plays Sakata Ginshi, Shoko Sugata of Shimura Shinpachi, and Kanna Hashimoto of Kagura, will still participate in the game. In this film, because they owe money and cannot pay the rent, the three people in the House of All Things start working, and they also meet the General at the place where they work. On the other hand, there are also problems within the True Selection Group, and Silver Will Face the Greatest Crisis.

Gintama tells the story of the arrival of aliens known as "Celestial Beings" at the end of the Edo period. The war between the Earthlings and the Celestials broke out instantaneously, and a large number of samurai and Warriors of the Shōjō faction participated in the battle against the Celestials. After the shogunate saw the great power of the Tenjin, it signed an unequal treaty with the Tenjin without authorization and allowed them to enter the country. Later, the "Abolition of Swords Order" was issued, which took away the samurai's sword. Since then, the heavens and men have run amok, and the shogunate has become a "puppet regime". In times like these, there was a samurai who lived happily with his companions in a whimsical life.
