People look up at this shining brick building, trace the historical footprints of the Chinese Communist Party, and remember the spiritual coordinates of the Chinese Communists.
"At an extremely critical juncture, the Party was saved, the Red Army was saved, and the Chinese revolution was saved!" The Zunyi Conference, held from January 15 to 17, 1935, changed the course of the Chinese revolution. What forces have turned history around? It is the great spiritual power contained in this meeting.
"In connection with the upcoming study and education of party history, we should profoundly understand the original intention and mission of communists from the spirit of the Long March and the spirit of the Zunyi Conference, implement the general requirements of party building in the new era, seek truth from facts, adhere to the truth, respond scientifically, take the initiative to seek changes, set firm goals, bravely move forward, and take the long march road in the new era." Seek truth from facts and adhere to the truth
In October 1934, the Central Red Army set out from Yudu, Jiangxi, and in less than three months, the number of the Red Army was reduced from 80,000 to 30,000. The wrong military line took great sacrifices, and the morale of the Red Army was unprecedentedly low.
"The situation is critical, and we can't let Li De command so blindly anymore!" On December 20, 1934, the column of the Central Military Commission arrived in Huangping, Guizhou. In an orange-yellow orange grove, Wang Jiaxiang, lying on a stretcher, said to a worried Zhang Wentian. Soon, they reached a consensus: "Comrade Mao Zedong still wants to come out!" Wang Jiaxiang wrote in his memoirs: "Along the way, Comrade Mao Zedong talked to me about some state and Party issues, and taught me the principle of combining the universal truth of Marxism-Leninism with the practice of the Chinese revolution, thus prompting me to discuss with Comrade Mao Zedong the opinion of convening the Zunyi Conference, and also strengthening my determination to support Comrade Mao Zedong." ”
From January 15 to 17, 1935, the Politburo held an enlarged meeting in Zunyi. Comrade Mao Zedong resolutely criticized the slogans put forward by Bogu, Li De, and others, such as "resisting the enemy from the country," "not giving up an inch of land in the Soviet zone," and "short surprise attack," as well as the major mistakes caused by the military. Comrade Mao Zedong's exposition penetrated into the depths, grasped the essence of the problem at once, and aroused strong resonance among the participants.
"Support Comrade Mao Zedong!" Wang Jiaxiang, Zhang Wentian, Zhou Enlai... The overwhelming majority of the participants were impressed by the brilliance of Comrade Mao Zedong's thoughts. After a stormy military struggle, the decision-makers of the Chinese revolution found a leader and the truth. Comrade Zhou Enlai once sighed: "Without the Zunyi Conference, the Chinese revolution does not know how long it will be postponed. ”
Marked by the convening of the Zunyi Conference, our party began to gradually form a stable leading collective and core, and with normal political life within the party, it began to mature politically. The centuries-old glory of our party have profoundly demonstrated that a mature Marxist political party with core leadership authority plays a decisive role in the cause of revolution, construction, reform and development.
After the Zunyi Conference, under the superb military command of Comrade Mao Zedong, the Central Red Army regrouped, lifted its spirits, and launched a flexible and mobile movement war in accordance with the actual situation of the enemy. The surprise attacks on Loushan Pass, the four crossings of the Chishui River, and the qiao crossing of the Jinsha River, one by one, completely smashed the encirclement, pursuit, and interception of hundreds of thousands of enemy troops, and won a decisive victory in the strategic transfer.
The century-old party history shows that the core of leadership of a country and a political party is of paramount importance. As the resolution of the Zunyi Conference pointed out: "The comrades of the whole Party are united like a person around the Central Committee and fight to the end for the general line of the Party Central Committee, and victory is bound to be ours." ”
General Secretary Xi Jinping profoundly pointed out: "Seeking truth from facts is the fundamental viewpoint of Marxism, the fundamental requirement for Chinese communists to understand and transform the world, and the basic ideological method, working method and leadership method of our party. ”
Only by persisting in seeking truth from facts can we adapt ourselves to local conditions. In recent years, Zunyi has explored how to change the rural appearance of poor areas from its own situation, adhered to the two bottom lines of development and ecology, and taken the lead in achieving poverty alleviation in Guizhou, not only piling up jinshan yinshan but also guarding green waters and green mountains.
As one of the provinces with the largest number of poor people, the largest area of poverty and the deepest degree of poverty in the country, Guizhou has accurately grasped the "potential" of poverty alleviation, accurately promoted the "thing" of poverty alleviation, and deduced the "Guizhou Method" of winning the battle against poverty with high quality, which has become a microcosm of the great strides forward of the cause of the party and the country since the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
"The vicissitudes of the sea, the true colors of heroes!" History has shown us that as long as we uphold the party's leadership over all work, there will be nothing that China cannot accomplish, and there will be no hardships that the Chinese people cannot overcome. The Zunyi Conference 86 years ago was held in the face of complex situations and major challenges, and the spirit of seeking truth from facts and adhering to the truth forged by the meeting is also the fundamental observance for us to win greater victories in the new era.

The exhibited historical materials in the Zunyi Conference Memorial Hall remembered such a moment: When the spirit of the Zunyi Conference was conveyed to the corps, divisions, and companies, the sky was drizzling, and the commanders and soldiers at all levels were so excited that they could not help themselves, and tears and rain flowed together.

In early 1933 the Provisional Central Committee moved into the Soviet Zone, but the radio station in charge of liaison with the Comintern remained in Shanghai and was soon destroyed by the enemy. On the eve of the Long March, the ties between the CPC Central Committee and the Comintern were completely severed.
In the absence of the guidance of the Comintern, the Chinese Communists have been exploring the path of independently and autonomously applying the basic tenets of Marxism to solve the conspicuous problems they are facing in terms of line, principles and policies. However, it is precisely the change of disconnection that contains historical opportunities.
The greenery of summer stretches from the valley edge of the Wujiang River to the Da Lou Mountains, and the Chishui and Xishui meet in Zunyi. The basic tenets of Marxism and China's reality also intersect here, and what they bring together is a road of independence and self-determination.
History shows that "the victory of the Chinese revolutionary struggle depends on the Chinese comrades understanding the situation in China" and that the affairs of the Communist Party of China must be decided by the Party itself in the light of China's actual conditions. The Zunyi Conference opened a new stage in which the Communist Party of China independently resolved the practical problems of the Chinese revolution. In this process, the Communist Party of China has forged the spirit of "scientific response and active change".
From Comrade Mao Zedong's proposition of "striving to find out the specific road for building socialism on this great land of China", to Comrade Deng Xiaoping's declaration of "taking our own road and building socialism with Chinese characteristics", to General Secretary Xi Jinping's emphasis that "to uphold independence and self-determination, we must unswervingly take the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics, neither taking the old road of closure and rigidity, nor taking the evil road of changing banners and changing banners", generations of Chinese Communists have unified the theoretical logic of scientific socialism with the historical logic of China's social development. Continuously promote the sinification of Marxism, advance with the times and expand the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
"Change is universal, general is long." Stick to your goals and move forward
In December 1934, when the frustrated Central Red Army penetrated deep into the strange and desolate Guizhou, they did not know that victory was close at hand, but they still had the belief in victory in their hearts. Re-reading the Politburo resolution adopted by the Liping Conference, the words were sonorous and powerful: "Resolutely eliminate the enemy troops who are blocking us." "We must strive to achieve our strategic decisions with all our might." The strong willpower of the Chinese Communists to "set their goals and forge ahead courageously" through the smoke of history is still exciting.
At the beginning of the Long March, the red army commanders and fighters were constantly dissatisfied with the "Left" erroneous line and doubted the goal of advance. After entering Guizhou, the correct military line represented by Comrade Mao Zedong gradually showed strong vitality, allowing the officers and men of the Red Army to regain their goal of advance and regain confidence in victory.
Looking back at the history of the Chinese revolution, Comrade Mao Zedong wrote "Why Can China's Red Regime Exist?" in the Soviet Zone. " and other famous chapters have already established the correct goal for the Chinese revolution and sounded the clarion call for victory.
On May 20, 2019, General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out when visiting the Memorial Hall of the Long March of the Central Red Army in Yudu, Jiangxi: "Today, on the new Long March Road, we must overcome various major risks and challenges from home and abroad and win new victories in socialism with Chinese characteristics, still relying on the firm ideals and beliefs of the whole party and the people of the whole country and the strong revolutionary will." ”
The great victory of the Long March is by no means a fortunate gift from history, but is forged with blood and will. Looking back at history, the Chinese Communists represented by Comrade Mao Zedong opened up the revolutionary road of encircling the cities from the countryside and seizing power by force. At a time when the erroneous line had plunged the Red Army into a life-and-death situation, the Zunyi Conference upheld the truth, corrected its mistakes, established the leading position of the correct Marxist line with Comrade Mao Zedong as the main representative in the Party Central Committee, strengthened the political belief of the whole Party, and encouraged the whole Party to become more and more frustrated and courageous, to set its goals and forge ahead courageously.
The flames have dissipated, monuments have stood, and the red land of Zunyi has launched a tough battle without gun smoke in the new era! Before the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, there were nearly one million poor people in Zunyi, and the task of poverty alleviation was very arduous. "We must not leave behind a poor area, a poor people!" The Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core has placed poverty alleviation in a prominent position in governing the country, regarded poverty alleviation as the bottom-line task of building a well-off society in an all-round way, and organized a huge people's war against poverty. The party has led the people to cut through thorns and thorns, brave the wind and rain, carry forward the spirit of nails and nails, dare to gnaw hard bones, and conquer one poverty after another.
On March 3, 2020, Zheng'an County, the last poverty-stricken county in Zunyi, announced that it would take off its hat and bid farewell to absolute poverty in Zunyi completely. By the end of 2020, the country has completed the task of poverty alleviation in the new era as scheduled, with 98.99 million rural poor people all lifted out of poverty, 832 poverty-stricken counties all removed their hats, and 128,000 poor villages all listed. The greater the dream, the greater the difficulties and resistance it will encounter; the more China develops, the more complex the international and domestic environment it faces. The road ahead will never be smooth, and realizing the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation requires the dedication of generations of people to struggle.
Today, countless communists hold high the torch of ideals and convictions, are not afraid of sacrifice, are willing to dedicate, and have erected spiritual monuments for our times. Liao Junbo, the secretary of the county party committee who warmed the masses with the flame burning in his chest, Huang Wenxiu, who fell on the front line of poverty alleviation, Huang Danian, a returnee professor who knocked on the "gate of the earth" with his life, Wang Jicai, who insisted on Kaishan Island for 32 years and only raised the five-star red flag... Their spirit of "sticking to the goal and moving forward" stirred up an invincible force.
Firm ideals and convictions are the courage and motivation for us to overcome all kinds of difficulties and risks on the road ahead; if the goal is not firm, the wind will swing left and right when the wind comes, the conviction will not be solid, and we will be chaotic in the face of challenges. The spirit of "setting goals and moving forward courageously" embodied in the Zunyi conference has always been our guide for us to take the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

Today's world is experiencing major changes unprecedented in a century, and China is in a critical period of realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. We must unswervingly uphold and strengthen the party's overall leadership, constantly enhance the "four consciousnesses," strengthen the "four self-confidences," and achieve the "two safeguards." Only then can we cross the "snowy mountains" and "meadows, conquer the "Loushan Pass" and "Lazikou," and the "China" giant ship on the road of the Long March in the new era.
