It is understood that Liuhua Mountain was originally one of the important attractions of Shenzhen Bay Park, adjacent to Shahe West Road in the west, the Torch Platform of Dayun in the north, the Crescent Moon Valley in the south, and Shenzhen Bay in the east, and the overall arc of gentle slopes.
In 2018, in order to implement the strategic deployment of the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee and the Shenzhen Municipal Government to "build a world-famous flower city", the Park Management Center of the Shenzhen Municipal Chengguan and Comprehensive Law Enforcement Bureau included the transformation of the scenic spot into the special work of improving the greening quality of the municipal park.
The improvement content mainly includes the topographic adjustment of about 14,200 square meters in the core area of Liuhua Mountain, the restoration of garden roads, plant combing, flower slope construction, etc., by creating a large flower sea with drunken butterfly flowers as the theme of flowers, and planting dwarfed large red flowers in a large area in the flower beds of several kilometers of sightseeing along the coast, and then three-dimensional greening of the original 7 galleries of the wedding square, forming a three-dimensional, flowing flower landscape that echoes the plane and the façade, creating a veritable "Liuhua Mountain".
After careful planning, design and construction in the early stage, the LiuhuaShan Huahai Landscape was officially opened to the public free of charge on February 20.

The flowering period of gorgeous rhododendrons is from March to May. Climb all the way around the mountain road of the big sycamore, and go to the mountain path with the laughing platform to see the gorgeous cuckoo growing on the high ground, which seems to have a kind of arrogant beauty in itself.
As the world's only rhododendron with the southernmost natural distribution latitude and the lowest altitude, the Woolly Cotton Rhododendron of Wutong Mountain has bloomed, but still has buds to be released. Looking down on the valley at the top of the hill, the moso cotton cuckoo is a clump here and a cluster there, high and low, like an elf in a green mountain.
Fairy Lake Botanical Garden: It's cherry blossom romance again
In Shenzhen, the beauty of cherry blossoms can be seen in the peach garden of the Xianhu Fossil Forest, where a total of 539 cherry blossoms are planted.
Cherry blossoms are native to the Yangtze River Basin and the areas north of the Yangtze River, and the distribution characteristics are characterized by many old trees, many varieties and large scale, and many flowers during the flowering period. Cherry blossoms like cold, cool environment, Shenzhen belongs to the subtropical monsoon climate, not the original place for cherry blossom growth, but because the cherry blossoms are very well-known, popular with the public, in recent years, the Fairy Lake Botanical Garden has introduced a total of 5 varieties of cherry blossoms that are more suitable for subtropical climates, namely 2 native species (Yunnan winter cherry blossoms and Fujian mountain cherry blossoms) and 3 hybrid varieties (Chinese red cherry blossoms, Guangzhou cherry blossoms and peony cherry blossoms).

Kapok, a common street tree in Shenzhen, is a large deciduous tree, and its height can even reach 25m. Xie Ruixing observed that the normal flowering period of kapok is in March, and now some have flowered ahead of schedule. The growth of kapok also has a major feature, that is, the leaves, flowers and fruits "do not meet each other", but this year, the leaves of kapok have not completely fallen, and the flowers have bloomed on the branches. According to the Flora of China, kapok is red or orange-red, solitary in the leaf axils near the top of the branches; its petals are usually red, sometimes orange-red, slightly fleshy, inverted ovate oblong, on both sides by short star-like soft hairs, above the hairs are sparser.
