2021 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Turkey, as well as the 30th anniversary of the sister city relations between Tianjin and Izmir, Turkey. In order to build a bridge for cultural and artistic exchanges between China and Turkey, jointly narrate the friendship between Tianjin and Izmir, and promote the orderly development of people-to-people exchanges and cooperation along the "Belt and Road", the Tianjin-Izmir Photography and Photo Exchange Exhibition of "Haihe Silk Road" was grandly opened on the afternoon of December 2, 2021 in the hall on the first floor of the Tianjin People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
The Tianjin-Izmir Photography And Photo Exchange Exhibition of "Haihe Silk Road" is sponsored by the Tianjin People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Tianjin Cultural Tourism Photography Association, and supported by the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and the Tianjin Representative Office of the International Silk Road Economic, Trade and Cultural Association (Turkey). The opening ceremony featured a promotional video from the Turkish city of Izmir and a congratulatory video by Ms. Celine Sorak, Minister of External Relations of the City of Izmir. The scene also connected with Ms. Sudia, Cultural Tourism Counselor of the Turkish Embassy in China, who wished the Tianjin-Izmir Photography Exchange Exhibition of the "Haihe Silk Road" a complete success.
Luan Jianzhang, director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Tianjin Municipal People's Government and president of the Tianjin Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, said in his speech: The purpose of this photography exhibition is to show the natural beauty and humanistic customs of the two countries and the two cities through the lens of the photographer, and to further narrow the distance between us in this way and enhance the understanding and friendship between each other. The Tianjin-Izmir Photography And Photo Exchange Exhibition of the "Haihe Silk Road" Cultural Series of Activities selected 100 works from photographers from Tianjin and other regions from 1,000 duofu submissions, including 50 paintings from Izmir and other cities in Turkey, and 50 paintings in Tianjin. In the form of photographic pictures, the cultural history and urban development of the two countries are displayed to the people of China and Turkey, and the natural beauty and humanistic charm of China and Turkey are recorded in the form of light and shadow. The content covers urban landscape, natural scenery, castle architecture, social documentary, sports photography, portrait photography, conceptual photography, etc. Whether it is people, landscapes, street scenes, and still lifes, they all reflect the photographer's unique perspective and creativity.
