Why do cats have black jaws?
In fact, we humans also have it, but the form is different. Because acne and pimples are not the preserve of our human teenagers, cats will get them too! This is the black chin of a cat. Therefore, the cat has a black chin and will not die, and the shovelers can rest assured.

Cat black chin
Sometimes, you may find the cat rubbing furniture and corners with its chin with its chin at an unusual frequency; or you may find that the cat's chin, nostrils, and mouth have black "cinders", and even strange cysts and pustules. These are all black jaws of cats, or to put it another way: cat folliculitis.

In general, feline folliculitis is a bacterial infection, mainly caused by hormone secretion, environmental irritation, and eating habits, however, the causes are diverse but ultimately bacterial infections.
A very common reason is the use of plastic food bowls. The plastic material itself is actually with concave and convex holes, and these gaps make it easy for bacteria to hide in it. In this way, washing dishes will not be effective in eliminating them. When the cat's jaw, mouth, and nostrils touch the surface of the bowl, bacteria are transferred to the cat's skin. In this case, the simplest and most direct switch to a ceramic or glass food bowl can cut off this source of bacteria. However, even if the material of the food bowl is changed, it still needs to be washed every day. If you're a lazy shoveler, use a disposable paper dish, which is also a good food bowl substitute.

The plastic water dispenser we use every day will also harbor a large number of bacteria, so our daily drinking water use also needs to be cleaned and disinfected frequently, after all, physical health is the core focus of free life.
There are also cat food purchased on the market that have been oil-injected on the surface, making it very easy for bacteria to proliferate. Based on the experience of the Shoveler Tribe, the chance of eating cat food for cat folliculitis is greater than eating canned ones. If you must feed cat food, it is best to limit the feeding time to one hour. Cleaning the cat's mouth with light salt water after a meal can also minimize such problems.

The treatment of feline acne depends on its severity, if only a few blackheads, "cinder" shaped objects, washed daily with diluted antibacterial soapy water can be. Such products include [Chlorhexidine], [Chlorhexidine] or iodine [Yoiodine] [Pritoliodine] (be careful not to use iodine).
Cats hate the "chin washing" behavior of the shoveler very much, and you may not have a chance to wipe it clean, so when operating to dilute this soapy water, it must be thin enough to dilute it to the point where the water is only slightly colored. Antibacterial soap for ordinary hand washing is not recommended because there are too many residues, and antibacterial dishwashing detergent is also used in cats because it is too irritating to the skin.
If symptoms are more severe, pet doctors will recommend trimming off the hairs on the cat's chin and using topical antibiotic ointments (of which mopirocin and Hyabol are excellent). Another treatment is to use a more intensely potent "benzoyl peroxide". If pustules appear on the cat's chin, never squeeze it. Because the skin of the cat's chin is very sensitive, it is easy to cause the infection to spread.
The black chin of a very small number of cats will occur repeatedly and is difficult to cure, but the good news is that the vast majority of cats can quickly return to normal after simple medication and cleaning. Shovelers, come on!
