The total output of aquatic products is the first in the country, the aquaculture output is the first in the country, and Guangdong has achieved consecutive victories!
Recently, the "2021 China Fishery Statistics Yearbook" was released, Guangdong continued to maintain the position of China's first major aquatic province, the total output of aquatic products and aquaculture production ranked first in the country, including grass carp, tilapia, mandarin fish, perch, snakehead and other 28 aquaculture species, 5 catch species and a number of aquatic fry production ranked first in the country.
Guangdong's total output of aquatic products: 8.7581 million tons
Statistics show that in 2020, China's fishery production was generally stable, aquatic product production increased from a decrease to an increase, the supply of aquatic products gradually returned to normal from a large number of slow sales, market prices fell first and then rose, and the economic operation of fisheries continued to recover steadily.
In 2020, the total output of aquatic products in the country was 65.4902 million tons, an increase of 1.6954 million tons over 2016, an increase of 2.66%. The total output of aquatic products in Guangdong Province was 8.7581 million tons, accounting for 13.37% of the country, an increase of 1.09% over the previous year, ranking first in the country for two consecutive years. The remaining 2-4 places are Fujian, Shandong, Zhejiang and Jiangsu.
In 2020, aquaculture production in Guangdong Province was 7.4665 million tonnes, an annual increase of 2.4%. Among them, the output of marine aquaculture is 3.3124 million tons, ranking third in the country; the output of freshwater aquaculture is 4.1541 million tons, ranking second in the country. Aquaculture area declined slightly, with mariculture of 164 000 ha, a decrease of 0.16 percent, and freshwater aquaculture of 309 000 ha, a decrease of 1.23 percent.

Consolidate the status of California perch, tilapia and other freshwater fish king
Guangdong has a superior geographical environment and abundant water resources, forming many advantageous breeding species. In 2020, Guangdong's freshwater aquaculture production accounted for 13.45% of the country's total output, second only to Hubei. Freshwater species such as grass carp, tilapia, P. vannamei, mandarin fish, sea bass (California perch), snakehead, eel, giant river prawn, pufferfish and short-lipped giant fat carp ranked first in the country.
The data shows that in 2020, the production of California perch in Guangdong Province accounted for 58.31% of the national total, continuing to consolidate the position of the first producing area of California perch; the production of snakehead and tilapia also led by a large margin, ranking first in the country with 45.84% and 44.71% respectively.

In 2020, Guangdong's marine fish production accounted for 42.45% of the total, ranking first in the country. Six species of marine fish, including sea bass (sea bass), cobia, amberjack, snapper, American redfish and grouper, as well as marine crustacean species such as White Shrimp, Penaeus monodon and blue crab, are among the highest.

Seedlings in Guangdong: 1.3 trillion tails, accounting for 35% of the country
For a long time, Guangdong has led the country in the breeding and research and development level of aquatic seedlings, and is the most important aquatic seedling production and trading base in China. In 2020, Guangdong ranked first in the country with significant advantages: the output of various fish and shrimp fry exceeded 1.3 trillion, accounting for about 35% of the country; of which 809.135 billion freshwater fry, accounting for 61.78% of the country, such as tilapia, marine fry, and South American white shrimp fry ranked first with a total of 45.84%, 40.31%, and 28.72%, respectively; shrimp nursery and abalone fry ranked second with 21.00% and 18.11%, respectively.
