On March 21, Beijing time, the Chinese Billiards Association announced the penalty decision to add a lifetime ban to Delu at the main draw ceremony of the 2019 CBSA Chinese Billiards World Championship.

Born in 1987, Yu Delu has a career score of 147 points, ranking 43rd in the world. He was temporarily suspended last May for alleged gambling and is under investigation by the World Professional Snooker Association (WPBSA).

In December 2018, WPBSA officially disclosed the investigation report of Yu Delu and another Chinese player, Cao Yupeng, on its official website.

The report points out that in a period of two and a half years, Yu de Lu manipulated the game 5 times in 5 matches, and thus received a huge return. In the snooker match that Delu allegedly manipulated, the total wagering income of 7 seasons was as high as 264,500 pounds. Cao Yupeng, who was relatively economically difficult, played three match-fixing games, earning 5,000 pounds each.

Previously, Yu Delu had admitted at the hearing through his lawyer that he manipulated the game, participated in illegal gambling, confirmed the score in advance, and made profits by betting on himself. He is also suspected of corruption to ensure that he and others receive substantial benefits.

Subsequently, Yu Delu and Cao Yupeng were banned for 10 years and 9 months and 6 years respectively, of which two and a half years were immediately executed, and the remaining 3 and a half years were suspended.

After the incident was exposed, the China Association for Taiwan Affairs publicly stated that it would pursue the incident to the end and would never tolerate it.

After the WPBSA's suspension execution was announced, the China Taiwan Association issued an announcement saying: "The two players did not listen to dissuasion and insisted on going their own way, causing irreparable losses to the sport and individuals of Snooker, and the Chinese Billiards Association deeply regrets and regrets." Here, the Chinese Billiards Association once again exhorts all players to take this as a lesson, strictly abide by the moral limits and professional ethics, consciously safeguard the fairness, impartiality and inviolability of the competition environment, consciously safeguard the national and personal image, train hard, work tenaciously, and strive for honor for the Chinese billiards sport. ”

Tonight, the Chinese Taiwan Association has an additional lifetime ban on Germany and The Republic of Germany, which means that it will bid farewell to the domestic arena forever. At the same time, this is the most serious execution of a player in the history of the Chinese Taiwan Association.
