Lingnan QuYi Society will present two performances on November 6 and 7 at the Zhongshan Auditorium of the Zhonghua Office in Chinatown, Manhattan, which is the premiere of the qu art club since its inception and is highly anticipated by Cantonese music lovers.
It is reported that the Lingnan Qu Art Society was founded by Zhao Rongde, honorary chairman of the Xinhui Township Association, and joined hands with Cantonese opera lovers, which included musicians and actors from the former provincial, Hong Kong, and municipal groups at all levels, including professors Wu Yuguang, Zhao Congbin, Ding Liuying, Wu Guorong, Liao Wencan, Liao Xiaomei, Lu Lili and other famous musicians, actors, and a number of Cantonese opera amateurs, and received strong support from the former mayor of Guangzhou and president of the Guangzhou Municipal Foundation for the Revitalization of Cantonese Opera, Li Ziliu, and his own inscription "Lingnan Qu Art Society".
The Lingnan QuYi Society held a grand inauguration ceremony on June 15 this year, and Zhao Rongde also provided a space at 1544 72nd Street in Brooklyn for free use by the performers and enthusiasts of the QuYi Society. Despite the impact of the epidemic, everyone practiced twice a week under the premise of doing a good job in epidemic prevention and actively prepared for the performance.
According to reports, the Lingnan Quyi Society is scheduled to perform twice in a row from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. on November 6 and 7 at the Zhongshan Auditorium of the Zhonghua Public Office at No. 62 Bee Street, Chinatown, Manhattan, which is the first large-scale performance after the establishment of the Lingnan Quyi Society and also coincides with the 83rd anniversary of the establishment of the Xinhui township association.
