He was dismissed three months after he stepped down as director of the Department of Transportation, his predecessor was tried for bribery, and his deputy was investigated

On September 18, the Heilongjiang Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection issued a news release saying that Yu Fei, former secretary of the party leading group and director of the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Transportation, was suspected of serious violations of discipline and law and is currently under disciplinary review and supervision and investigation. Just three months ago, Yu Fei had just "retreated to the second line" and was appointed vice chairman of the Financial and Economic Committee of the 13th People's Congress of Heilongjiang Province.

The Bureau of Inspection noticed that this was the fall of Heilongjiang's two consecutive directors of the Department of Communications, and the last time he was investigated was Yu Fei's predecessor, Gao Xuewen.

He has been working in the development and reform system for a long time and has served as the head of the Transportation Department for nearly 6 years

According to the official resume, Yu Fei is 60 years old, a native of Zhaodong, Heilongjiang, who joined the party in February 1982, joined the party in October 1986, and graduated from Heilongjiang Provincial Water Conservancy College majoring in hydraulic engineering and construction, with an on-the-job graduate degree.

Yu Fei, a technical graduate, entered the Nihe Reservoir Engineering Department in Heilongjiang Province as a technician after graduating in 1982, and became the deputy chief of the section two years later. The Nihe Reservoir is located in the lower reaches of the Nihe River, a tributary of the Hulan River, not far from Yu Fei's hometown of Zhaodong.

In 1987, at the age of 27, Yu Fei was transferred to the Heilongjiang Planning Commission, and in 1998, the Planning Commission was renamed the Development and Reform Commission, and yu Fei worked in the Development and Reform Commission for a long time until 2011, when he was transferred to the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Finance as deputy director.

In December 2014, Yu Fei was promoted to secretary of the party group and director of the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Transportation, and on June 15 this year, Yu Fei retired from his post.

It is worth mentioning that on April 20 this year, Yu Fei, as the director of the department, represented the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Transportation and spoke at a high-level industry-wide video conference held by the Ministry of Transport. In this speech, Yu Fei reported on the development of Heilongjiang's transportation industry during the epidemic and introduced Heilongjiang's future investment and construction plans in transportation. Yu Fei said that the next step will be to closely follow the annual investment task objectives and epidemic prevention and control work, further improve the construction management model that is compatible with the epidemic, further establish a long-term mechanism for transportation poverty alleviation, and unswervingly complete the annual goals and tasks.

The predecessor was involved in bribery and was dismissed, and his deputy was investigated during his term of office

Yu Fei succeeded Gao Xuewen as director of the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Communications. In 2013, when Yu Fei was appointed secretary of the party group and deputy director of the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Transportation, it was Gao Xuewen who was transferred to the Heilongjiang Provincial Transportation Department as the director of the department.

Less than two years later, in October 2014, Gao Xuewen fell. In December of the same year, Yu Fei became the director of the Transportation Department of Heilongjiang Province. According to the investigation results of the Heilongjiang Provincial Discipline Inspection Commission that year, Gao Xuewen took advantage of his position to seek benefits for others and accepted huge bribes; in violation of the regulations on honesty and self-discipline, he accepted gifts and gifts that might affect the fair performance of official duties. Gao Xuewen's above-mentioned acts have constituted a serious violation of discipline, in which the issue of accepting bribes is suspected of being a crime. In accordance with the "Regulations on Disciplinary Punishment of the Communist Party of China" and other relevant provisions, after deliberation by the Provincial Discipline Inspection Commission and reported to the provincial party committee for approval, it was decided to give Gao Xuewen the punishment of expulsion from the party; the provincial supervision department should report to the provincial government for approval to give him the administrative dismissal sanction; confiscate his proceeds from violation of discipline; and transfer his suspected criminal issues and clues to the judicial organs for handling according to law.

In November 2015, the Hegang Intermediate People's Court held a trial of gao Xuewen, former director of the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Transportation, for accepting bribes. After Yu Fei took office, the Department of Transport has not reduced its efforts to fight corruption. In August 2018, Zhu Jinyu, then deputy director of the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Transportation, was expelled from the party and dismissed from public office on suspicion of a large amount of assets of unknown origin.
