Born on 18 January 1993 in Medellín, Colombia, Quintero is a 169cm tall midfielder who plays as a midfielder and is also qualified as a right forward and right winger.
In 2009, Quintero officially began his career with Colombian side Envigado, playing for the team for two seasons. Since 2012, he has played briefly at Gendarks in the Colombian Serie A and Pescara in Serie A. In July 2013, he joined Portuguese Premier League powerhouse Porto, scoring 7 goals in 64 appearances and contributing 11 assists during his tenure, and helped the team win the Portuguese Super Cup in 2014. In August 2015, he joined Rennes on loan, played for one season and returned to Colombia in 2017 to join brother League side Medellín Independence.
