The manga Symphonic Lover's Dream (ののだめカンタービレ), which began serialization in the manga magazine Kiss in 2001, depicts a comedic story of a group of individualized music students with laughter and tears, followed by a live-action Japanese drama starring Shuri Ueno and Hiroshi Tamaki.
The protagonist of the story, Noda Kei (nicknamed Noda Mei, Nodame), is a creative genius pianist, and her daily life is full of impact and fun - living in a garbage-heap room, sloppy, full of strange mantras, unpredictable actions... He was called "perverted" by his beloved Chiaki predecessor.
Is it such an unprecedented and bizarre character, a character that actually exists?! The idea that Noda Mei has a live-action prototype has also been discussed among fans. Who is she? What is her relationship with manga author Tomoko Ninomiya? Do you really live in such a dirty room? With all kinds of questions, Weekly Miscellaneous tried to find myself and got a response!
Kei Noda (prototype real name, nodame is also her nickname), after graduating from Otoku University, is now working as a piano instructor in Okawa City, Fukuoka. A fan of Tomoko Ninomiya since high school, a friend came to her house one day to play and was shocked by her messy room and took pictures. Usually, Tomoko Ninomiya will have some communication with fans through the official HP, and occasionally a friend will show the photo (picture 1 above) to the teacher. After that, the teacher called everyone to their home for hospitality, and while drinking wine and chatting, they slowly conceived the direction of the manga. Speaking of her mood when she first saw the work, Kei Noda said that on the day of the release, she rushed to the convenience store to buy a book, just like a dream, and did not look back for a while. "Let's not talk about myself, this (comic) is super funny isn't it!?" At the end of the first episode, Chiaki's monologue appears, "This is my encounter with Kei Noda." When I found out, the name was also directly used!!! I can't forget that feeling of surprise until now.
Tomoko Ninomiya also communicates with her frequently by phone during the creative process, and useful musical knowledge and interesting little stories are drawn into the manga. When the work was animated, the teacher also asked her to directly compose the music for "Gymnastics (Fart Gymnastics)", which was also performed by a professional large orchestra in the "Symphonic Lover's Dream Concert" held in Fukuoka. "I was very sorry to see my handwritten score appear on a huge screen (laughs)"
