It is a precious original document that has always been highly valued by scholars. The first series of "Rare Qing Dynasty Rulers" published this time, "Qingxi Old House Rulers" and "Tongyitang Rulers", are published in 46 hardcover volumes, in the form of original color pictures and interpretations, which is an ancient book collation project jointly carried out by Shanghai Library and the Taiwan Ancient Books Protection Society since 2010.
Shanghai Library has a tradition of collecting celebrity rulers, after more than half a century of continuous collection and donations from all parties, the current collection of ming and qing dynasties to the Republic of China period of the ruler literature reached more than 120,000 tongs, is China's domestic public library collection of celebrity rulers the largest number of units. For this valuable historical document heritage, the Shanghai Library not only attaches importance to facilitating the research and utilization of experts, but also actively organizes and publishes related documents in an orderly manner, so that the ruler literature is "not alone, it is incarnated into a thousand hundred", and provides academic circles and calligraphy art lovers with texts that can be used and appreciated.
"Qingxi Old House Ruler" and "Tongyitang Ruler" are one of the original collections of many rulers in Shanghai Library, with a large number of Chinese, involving many characters, high academic content, and difficult text recognition. This treasure trove of rare materials centered on the father and son of qing dynasty scholars Liu Wenqi (1789-1854) and Liu Yusong (1818-1867) involved more than 460 characters and 3,041 letters, and recorded a large amount of information such as social life, literati exchanges, academic trends, and book engravings at that time, which had high historical value.
In the past 10 years, scholars on both sides of the strait have repeatedly interpreted and read, and with a rigorous attitude of governance, they have held review meetings in Shanghai and Taiwan many times, and a total of more than 30 scholars have participated in interpretation and review, and this set of important literature integration has been launched with high quality. Its publication will help promote the academic history of the Qing Dynasty, especially the study of the Yangzhou School.
