Yuan Zhesheng (1966-2004) was a native of Gangshan Town, Kaohsiung County, Taiwan (now Gangshan District, Kaohsiung City), graduated from the Department of English of Bunka University and the Institute of Western Languages of Tamkang University. The text is calm and plain, the narrative technique is simple and moderate, the writing style is like an iceberg of alienation, and the blank space between the lines often contains profound meaning.
