Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson is coming back, but in the coming weeks, he still has to do something to get closer to the NBA competition.

At Monday's NBA Media Day, Thompson shared the checkpoints he must walk through in the upcoming 2020-21 season. According to T Mark J. Spears, for the Warriors' top scorers, being able to play 1-on-1 and 5-on-5 basketball is his next step before joining the team.
Mark J. Spears: Clay: Thompson wants to play 5-on-5 and 1-on-1 in the coming weeks.
Klay Thompson is not expected to play at the start of the 2021-22 season, so his recovery is not in a hurry. However, it will certainly be beneficial for him to experience the full basketball action early as possible, as this will help him get the right form and be ready for the game when his number is called.
It's uncertain when he'll join the Warriors. However, his teammates and splash brothers. Steven Curry said at an earlier media day that Thompson should be ready to play on Thanksgiving or early December.
Thompson has missed the past two seasons due to injury. He tore the anterior cruciate ligament in the 2019 Finals, which cost him the entire 2019-20 season. In the offseason heading to the 2020-21 season, his Achilles tendon ruptured, leaving him out for another year.
Recovering from such a serious injury is undoubtedly difficult, so it's no surprise that Thompson and the Warriors are so cautious. That being said, it looks like Clay is doing everything he can to contribute to the Warriors as quickly as possible.
