On October 18, the Anhui delegation's Paralympic team participating in the 11th National Paralympic Games and the 8th Special Olympics set off first and arrived in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, where the Special Olympics team and darts team will also set out on October 20.
At the Games, our province sent a total of 111 athletes to participate in 17 major events such as athletics and table tennis. Among them, Paralympic champions and table tennis women Liu Meili and Hou Chunxiao, as well as blind gateball player Kong Xihan, track and field athletes Wang Wei, Zhang Shiteng, Xi Bo, Zhang Daoxu, darts female athlete Mei Xiaodi, Special Olympics weightlifter Liu Zhou Wuming, etc. are all outstanding athlete representatives, and are expected to achieve good results in their respective projects and win honors for Anhui.
Since October 3, the participants of the 11th National Paralympic Games and the 8th Special Olympics in our province have arrived at the centralized closed isolation point and conducted a 14-day centralized closed isolation training. The projects participating in the centralized closed isolation training include athletics, table tennis, blind judo, blind gateball, group darts, special Olympics athletics, table tennis, roller skating, badminton, weightlifting, a total of 110 people in 10 sports, of which 76 are in the provincial sports training and guidance center for the disabled.
In the 11th National Paralympic Games and the 8th Special Olympics Advance Competition held in May this year, the disabled athletes in our province have achieved good results, among which the weightlifting projects Yang Jinglang and Wang Jian won the gold and silver medals in the men's 54 kg category, Li Mao and Zhao Zhengjie won the gold and silver medals in the men's 107+ kg category, Guo Qinmei won the bronze medal in the women's 86+ kg category, Gong Yunyun and Lu Shaoling in the Go event won the gold and silver medals in the women's limb group, and Zhai Yeqing won the gold medal in the women's limb group in the chess event.
At the same time, our province selected 12 Special Olympics athletes from the Ma'anshan Special Olympics Football Training Base to participate in the Special Olympics football competitions, and achieved a good result of 2 gold and 1 silver. Among them, in the individual technical competition, Ma Yinnan won the first place in the men's 12-15 year old group G, and Zhou You won the second place in the A group of men aged 30 and over 30 years old; in addition to the two individual technical team members, 10 Special Olympics athletes in our province won the first place in the team-based competition E group. Ma Yinnan, Dai Liyi and Xu Qijing won the Sportsmanship Award respectively.
