Recently, LACFF announced the list of films selected for the main competition unit of the 2019 Los Angeles Chinese Film Festival and related data.
It is reported that the organizing committee received a total of 10 films from different countries and regions (Chinese mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the United States, South Korea, the United Kingdom, France, Canada, Sri Lanka, South Africa), a total of 382 films were collected, including short films and feature films (the length of long films is more than 40 minutes, and the length of short films is less than 40 minutes) 50 long films and 332 short films.
Of the 382 films that participated in the competition, there were 303 feature films, 52 documentary films and 27 experimental/animated films, which was 127 more than the same period last year.
After two months of preliminary review and review, 23 films were successfully shortlisted for the main competition unit of the 2019 Los Angeles Chinese Film Festival, including 3 feature films, 3 documentary feature films, 10 feature films, 5 animated short films and 2 experimental short films.
The 23 finalists will be screened at the Downtown Independent Theater in Los Angeles from October 25 to October 27, 2019, and will compete for six awards: Best Feature Feature, Best Documentary Feature, Best Animated/Experimental Short, Independent Spirit and Most Promising Director.
