Wang Yi: The claim of "genocide" in Xinjiang is ridiculous

At 3 p.m. on March 7, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi answered questions from Chinese and foreign journalists on "China's foreign policy and foreign relations."

Wang Yi: The claim of "genocide" in Xinjiang is ridiculous

Regarding the Global Times reporter's mention that some Western countries have slandered Xinjiang for carrying out "genocide" actions, Wang Yizheng warned that the so-called "genocide" in Xinjiang is absurd and completely fabricated with ulterior motives and complete lies.

Wang Yi said that in the past 60 years, Xinjiang's total economic output has increased by more than 200 times, and the average life expectancy has increased from 30 years to 72 years. Many foreign friends who have been to Xinjiang have said that the Xinjiang they have seen is completely different from the Western media reports.

Wang Yi said that Maxime Viva, a well-known French writer, political commentator and journalist, once wrote a book called "The End of Uyghur Fake News", using his two deep experiences in Xinjiang to tell a prosperous, stable and real Xinjiang. Some Western politicians would rather believe the lies fabricated by a few people than listen to the common aspirations of the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang; they would rather cooperate with the clumsy performances of a small number of anti-China forces than face up to the basic facts of xinjiang's development and progress. This shows that they do not care about the truth, but are keen on political manipulation and attempt to artificially create so-called "Xinjiang-related" problems, undermine the security and stability of xinjiang and hinder China's development and growth.

"People from all over the world are welcome to visit Xinjiang, seeing is believing, and rumors will eventually be destroyed." Wang Yi said.
