The Shaanxi Film Award is the only comprehensive film award in the province approved by the Propaganda Department of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China, sponsored by the Shaanxi Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and hosted by the Shaanxi Provincial Filmmakers Association, and is the second edition this year. The awards include eight sub-categories: Best Feature Film, Best Small and Medium Budget Feature Film, Best Children's Film, Best Documentary, Best Drama Film, Best Screenplay, Best Director, and Best Directorial Debut.
This year's Shaanxi Film Awards received a total of 53 entries. The themes of the entries are diverse and creative, including films that actively reflect the general trend of history, praise the true feelings of the world, shape a beautiful heart, and pursue a happy life; there are also films that are good at seeing the big in the small, from the small things, the taste of life, the rural mountains, and the discovery of truth, goodness and beauty in nature, and write good works that are praised by the times and the people.
The judges of the Shaanxi Film Awards adhere to the principle of fairness, openness and impartiality, and the judging process is divided into two parts: preliminary evaluation and final evaluation, and the preliminary evaluation experts will select the nominated works from all the entries according to different categories and submit them for final evaluation. The award committee members will score and vote on the three aspects of the film's ideology, artistry and production level.
The preliminary jury of the second Shaanxi Film Awards is composed of 9 expert judges from Wang Kun, Li Junlian, Zhang Rong, Zhang Yanju, Nanhua, Dang Lei, Cao Xiaojing, Liang Yingjian, and Lu Tao (ranked by stroke of surname), and Comrade Liang Yingjian is the director of the preliminary judging committee.
This year's Shaanxi Film Awards competition is very fierce, after strict review and careful selection by expert judges, 53 candidate films have been deeply observed and fully discussed, resulting in the second Shaanxi Film Awards Best Feature Film, Best Small and Medium Cost Feature Film, Best Children's Film, Best Documentary, Best Screenwriter, Best Director, Best Director Debut and other categories of nominated films.
Among them, "Homesickness", "Liu Qing" and "Ma Xi Five Judgments" were nominated for Best Feature Film. "Rattle Drum Bang", "Fengxiang 1949" and "Old Wall" were nominated for Best Small and Medium Cost Feature Film. "Crazy Bullring" and "Beast Whisperer of the Fantasy Forest" were nominated for Best Children's Film. "The Rhubarb Family" and "The Bookmaker" were nominated for Best Documentary. "Wind Blowing Bar Mai Lang", "Qinling Blossom" and "Song Express" were nominated for best screenwriter. "Rattle Drum Bang", "Liu Qing", "Advancing to 33 North Latitude. 1°" was nominated for Best Director. "Homesickness", "Old Wall" and "Wingless Flight" were nominated for Best Directorial Debut.
